  2. Another example of this is the Masqueraders - How on La beat. No way is this a rare piece, but since J.M. auctioned it everyone expects a grand for it.

  6. It comes from THE STRANGE WORLD OF NORTHERN SOUL film that Ian Levine made. I can remember the quote, but not the guys name. It was from the late sixties wheel era when there was a sense of support amongst the youth for the black americans who were still fighting for their civil rights. That's where the black gloves and the "right on" expressions come from. I think to most kids it was just a "fashionable" thing at the time. But there was a feeling of empathy for black Americans at that time and the music was more blues orientated. It might sound naff now, but at the time it was considered very cool. But we were VERY YOUNG. Phil.

  15. Ian, sorry to hear about your domestic problems. I think most of us have been there, so can appreciate your predicament. ...... I did get a copy for Mr. Murphy recently, but I don't think I should disclose the amount on here...... I bought my own copy off Pete Smith about a year ago and paid £400 for it. I never saw the one on ebay or I'd have bought it to sell on. Very cheap i.m.h.o. ps your new computer is much better than your old one. Your posts fit on the screen, and I can answer them now. Phil.

  20. I thought you were going to buy that last copy that was on ebay Gash? You have to bid higher if you want them mate. That particular copy was bought by a mate of mine, and sounded very good at The Burnley Allnighter when he played it a couple of weeks ago. I can talk, I just got out bid on that Joe Mathews red issue, by mr. Boogalloo. I hate ebay don't you.
  21. Really shocking news. Very, very sad. I thought he was making a good recovery. R.I.P. mate.
  22. Hi Tony, I think you need to read my post properly mate. I said, and I quote "I've never had the Jean Carter so I can't comment" Phil.
  23. Duc, you would be welcomed with open arms mate, you've hit the nail on the head there. We all want that buzz of hearing something awesome for the first time. Mind you I was off the scene for twenty years so it happens to me quite often. If you make it to the Kestral Suite, please introduce yourself, I'd like to buy you a drink. Phil.
