  2. Mel, anyone picking a fight with you must be mental, and deserve a slap.
  3. Absolutely right Russ. I put all the records on my wants list into the ebay search engine the other day. And guess what? 90% of em were available on boots and re-issues. But who for? And I still don't believe that these re-issues are all legal.... I really can't believe that there is money to be made out of this sordid business. A lot of these records haven't even had the exposure so as to be that popular. Ruining the scene in my humble opinion.
  4. You two are just showing off now. I'm going to bed.
  5. Lifes really unfair.
  6. Bloody hell Ady, you know how much I want that 45.
  7. I heard about Mark and I have asked him to come and do a spot at Burnley. The offer is still there, and I hope to tie him down to a date, as soon as I get them sorted. Hopefully tomorrow. Bloody Club management. Phil.
  8. Don't say you've gone over to the dark side Ted?
  9. I have tried 75 minute spots at Burnley from time to time, and they seem to be very popular with DJ's and punters. I think it gives you more time to express yourself without overstretching your play box...... I'm very particular to whom I give a guest spot , and I think that a lot of the frustrations that James [and many others who ain't got the bottle to say so] feels, are caused by promoters that do not have a music policy, but book tried and tested, or should that be TIRED and OVER USED DJ's, and just give them carte blanche to play whatever crap they like..... So far, all the guest DJ's that I have had on at Burnley have been absolutely brilliant. I have also tried to give up and coming DJ's a chance doing a warm up hour. I know this isn't an ideal time to be on, but it's so that myself and the other residents can hear what they have to offer. And we have been very impressed with the performances so far..... At the end of the day, while we are still able to dance and express ourselves, I feel you have to try to excite people onto the dance floor. It doesn't matter that I can't walk for a week after a Burnley Allnighter, it just means that the music has been brilliant, and I've had a fantastic night. We're all going to be a long time dead, so I want to dance now..... So many great DJ's that never get a chance. And their the ones that have the passion and are looking to play something fresh..... So in a nutshell, the promoters need to exercise some imagination, and stop booking their friends to dj all the time. Stagnation of the music, is why so many have stopped going out. Sorry for the rant, once I get started....... Phil.

  20. I just said that.
  21. Baz, It's cos the majors had the money, that they pressed loads of demos, and then the record bombed, so very few issues were pressed.
  22. This is a great idea for a thread. I love looking at label scans. I think I've got one that may be of interest, I'll go and dig it out. Good stuff Ady
  23. Personally I can't wait for the ban. I went to the Wilton a fortnight ago and have had some kind of infection ever since. The Wilton has to have the most unhealthy atmosphere of any venue. Low ceiling, lots of smokers and they never put the bloody air conditioning on. If you wear specs and walk in to the Wilton, you can't see through them for 15 minutes. Such is the humidity. Bring it on I say.
