  1. You could pick it up for a tenner, till Fred Kroll spun it at Burnley one night and everyone ran up on stage to see what it was. Must admit, it does sound good played out....
  2. Nobody makes the heavy weight ones any more. I even bought some from the States that were supposed to be heavy gauge cardboard, cost me a fortune, and were just the same as the ones sold over here.
  3. For me Northern Soul is the only music I like generally. I personally feel the proper classic stuff I grew up with, known and worshipped in the mid 70's has never had much quality added to it. Yeah there's been a few, but percentage wise at least 80 percent of the decent stuff which helped coin the phrase was by then discovered........ ........... ..........That's f***ing slander. ......
  4. I started running my allnighters from 11pm to 6am. My reasons were based on my own experiences at other events. For example, I noticed that most people were leaving early, and at some nighters, they were empty by 5am. Also, they were very quiet in the early hours. ie. 8pm to 11pm.......I was talked into starting at at 10pm, and use that hour to give people a chance to dj and showcase what they have to offer....... The fact is, that we are all getting to the stage when we can't go out all weekend, and stay up all night. Especially when we are travelling 2/3/4/ even 5 hours to get to venues.....I'm happy with 10pm to 6am. And even then it can be dead the last hour..... 12pm to 8am sounds fantastic, but in reallity you would struggle to find a venue that would go along with those hours. And I think it would be dead for the last couple of hours...... Just m.h.o. of course. Phil.
  5. Any Signs Of A Youth Invasion, Duffy and co There certainly semed to be one at the 100 club last Saturday night.
  6. Sorted now, had a wrong digit. Many thanks to all for your help. Phil.
  7. Asked for this a while ago and been ringing it to no avail. Finnally got through and it's the wrong number. DOH! Please can some kind soul PM me with the correct number. Thanks, Phil.
  8. Whoops! sorry boys. Bidnapper rules knowing my luck you'll get the minter off Tommy for less than I paid. wish I'd known Tommy had one. Phil.
  9. I only found out about this dreadful news whilst at work last night....Like anyone who knew him this sad news has left me devastated....We used to shed bucket loads of sweat together back in the days of Sherridans.....I remember the time we first met....I'd never spoken a word to him before when he approached me on the dance floor mid sweat... and offered me a share of his bottle of water....i mentioned that to him just the other week...he grabbed my hand and just smiled....that to me tells me what type of person he was....A very very sad loss indeed. My sincere thoughts go out to his family and close friends...Peace be with you my dancing friend....Your friend....Karl Heard.
  10. I have just heard about this terible news. Pomma was a regular at Burnley, and one of the children of the night. Always on the dance floor enjoying the music, and a real nice guy. He will be very sadly missed by all at Burnley......Our thoughts go out to his family. R.I.P. Phil Kowalski
