  1. Again I bow to your superior knowledge Craig. It must have been the cartridge then, can't remember what it was, but it did have an eliptical stylus fitted. I had to turn the volume up to almost double what I use now, to obtain the same volume, and I didn't like the tone at all. Phil.
  2. Just changed mine recently. Tried a Pro-ject deck, but the sound level was very low. Finished up with the ubiquitous Technics 1200 SLMK2 coupled with the Shure White Label cart. Also use these at my allnighter. In my humble opinion you won't get better for playing 60's 7inch vinyl. Some of those old decks look gorgeous, but the tone arms must weigh a ton? Phil.
  3. Another track that came from JA is the Stanley Evans........Got a good thing going..Phil LA test, only known copy that Sam now has from Gary Spencer via Manny. Sam sold it on Phil in some "trades" - much to my annoyance.... I know, that was me quoting Andy Smith. I know where it went, but I thought Butch had it also?
  4. Hasn't Butch got it Andy?
  5. Another track that came from JA is the Stanley Evans........Got a good thing going..Phil LA test, only known copy that Sam now has from Gary Spencer via Manny. Sam ain't got this anymore mate..... My avitar is also bloody rare......
  6. It's supposed to be a dance scene....it's a fookin great record to dance to....it sounds fantastic played out.....I'll name myself, and I'm certainly NOT SHAMED....if you don't like it, that's fine. But don't all make out that it's not a great dance tune....it's got that undefinable atmosphere that makes me feel good, and want to dance.....that's what it's all about to me. Phil.
  7. That one on ebay was only vg but still a bargain for someone. Very under rated in my humble opinion.....I've still got mine and haven't had any offers that were anywhere near it's value to me. So I'll hang on to it, or maybe put it on JM's auction.
  8. Pretty sure Petes copy was two grand, and I laughed and told him he'd never sell it for that. Whoops! wrong again.....
  9. I don't think you will get a copy for a grand these days Phil. Good luck though...
  10. Yes, I've been trying to get it for years. Still never heard owt of the guy who was gonna try and get it for me....
  11. Well it definitely made a difference at my venue. And if you ask any publican, or club owner, I'm sure they will have been affected. In the small town where I live nearly every pub is up for sale. I love the no smoking atmosphere, but it's deffo put some folk off.
  12. I can't agree with your analogy.....it seems to me, that for every venue that shuts, another two open....as we have got older, and we don't have the energy, or indeed the inclination to dance all night. We have all decided that we'll do a bit of DJ'ing instead....but the only way you can get regular spots is by starting your own venue....and that, in a nutshell, is what's killing this scene....Well, that and the fact that there aren't enough new 60's tunes being found....cos they aren't there....
  13. As far as I'm aware. Unissued. unknown artist acetate. I love it, and have tried to get my hands on the acetate. No joy though. The boot is very good sound quality though isn't it?
  14. If you put down the prices that you are willing to pay, you won't keep waisting peoples time. You've been offered a few as far as I can see. But you don't want to pay the going rate.
  15. I think you all had my list and there's a copy of this on it?
  16. Well I love it ....sounds fantastic played out, and great to dance to...
  17. Happened to me Shute, you will have to ring him and explain. He cannot alter the site, he has to get the web site people to alter it, and it'll cost you a tenner. Phil.
  18. One here....../Stanley-t93360.html
  19. Here you go, /Stanley-t93258.html
  20. I thought you were talking about the Combinations on Kellmac..... ...not such a bargain that 45.... ...talking at cross purposes there Mr secret squirrel.....
  21. I know it's rare Greg, but not really a floor packer is it? The Precisions however, I think was a great buy at that price. I'd have been interested if I was still collecting.
