At one time you could tell what was going on with records on eBay. But the ridiculous over the top precautions taken to prevent people from buying "off" eBay means that people can get away with all kinds of "shady" behaviour. I used to know who was buying what and from whom, but it's impossible to tell anymore. They have even stopped you clicking on the items that have been bought in people's feedback. Pathetic! I don't use it anymore.

I can't help feeling slightly meloncholy, that a very special one off is now going to be played to death by all and sundry.

I just sold an issue but it played with some distortion. I was told they were all like that, but I have played the ones on YouTube and they all sound fine.

Am bloody sick of bidding on fantastic records, only to find they have miraculously disappeared the next day. Messaged the last one and he said he had decided to keep it. Yeh right. Somebody made him an offer he couldn't refuse more like. And relax.

I recently posted a want for this record, and a guy kindly offered me one. When it arrived it looked in good condition and I was very happy with it. So I gave it a clean and put it on the deck to have a listen. All good until the sax break, when it jumped at 1 min 54 sec. Played it five times, still jumped in the same place. So, got in touch with the seller who said it played fine when he tested it before sending. Anyway, sent it back to him, and just got a message with a sounfile of him playing the sax break, and somebody else's YouTube clip with the same jump in the same place. I haven't had this record in my possession since the early seventies, but I never noticed this fault back in the day. Please can anyone throw any light on this? I'm super fussy with stuff like this, and it just winds me up.
