  1. Ruby Turner-Portsmouth Polytechnic-1985. No ones ever come close, simply stunning performance.
  2. Mostly, but this ones particularly good.
  3. Well i like it Pete Check out, if you already have'nt, the instumental version of Barry White-For You, Ill Do, Anything You Want Me To. You might just like it.
  4. Taken as a whole, the concept, the potential, oh, you know what i mean Was'nt referring to James alone
  5. James, never been a big funk follower but i must say that this is the business mate, you will surely win converts with this quality!
  6. Its not there on mine.
  7. Peanut Duck Thats an insult to novelty records
  8. Not at all. Respect your argument totally. Its just that stuff like the Carstairs, Montclairs, O'Jays etc even Tavares was the soul music i originally got into and holds the most nostalgia. Tended to work backwards (in time) from there. I do have some 60's soul
  9. The Four Vandals?
  10. Heard that one played before as well. DJ at Sleaford on sunday played the c/w of Manhattan Transfers-Chansen D'Amour, absolutely filled the floor with an amazing soul sound. Forgot to ask what it was called though, will try and find out.
  11. Now this may be my ever hazey memory, but im sure i can remember Andy Williams-House of Bamboo being played at some venues in the past.
  12. Totally agree, 100% soul classic.
  13. Pete, this is a serious question. If the Carstairs track is not soul then what is it? I agree on the other 2 you listed but not that one.
  14. Well, im predominantly a 70's fan but Pete has already agreed earlier in the thread on the Al Kent track, so it can be done. Gaz.
  15. Thanks Pete
  16. Not Showaddywaddy then?
  17. If you've not heard it before, try looking out Too Late-Tavares, listening to it at the moment and absolutely love it. Gaz.
  18. Come back and finish what you started?
  19. Good choice, but as you say, a little overplayed Several send shivers down my spine but few others would like them.
  20. Well Als not the one Agree on george Blackwell though.
  21. Bobby Hutton - Come see what's left of me I thought about this one Pete, first one that sprang to my mind. What about Al Kent-The way you've been acting lately? Not my favourite i must admit but i like it and most people i know "like it".
  22. Just out of interest, are there any dedicated collectors of this?
