  1. When Richard and Alan Rhodes first started playing Sam Williams - Love Slipped Thru My Fingers I;d leave the dancefloor in protest, that terrible caterwailing female backing singer on the intro made me cover my ears. I think it was maybe a year or two later when it came out on Grapevine that I started to appreciate it. After about 5 years it was up there with many of my favourites, and now 30 years on it never leaves my top 10. I still don't like the girl backing vocalist though.
  2. Me? No mate, I'm trying to sell not buy (see first post)
  3. https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZmayfair...1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0? only 5 items but some nice ones and all still dead cheap
  4. I sold it for £5 about 6 months later, thats all I can remember - but that copy floated around here for ages til my mate John bought it in about 1991 - for £5!
  5. Thats great info, thank you.
  6. Just wondered if The Swordsmen ever put an album out. I've got 2 x 10" acetates by them. You Need Love is an uptempo-ish track, Here I Am is a soulful ballad. I think Here I Am came out on 45 but am not sure about You Need Love. Neither is my type of thing so I'll put some sound files up later see if anyone is interested in them. cheers.
  7. Before they had "boot sales" there used to be saturday afternoon "fetes", I remember buying that album at a church fete in 1981 or 1982 for 5p. Still no idea how it got there.
  8. Bearsy those two aren't unreleased tracks...it was whats your favourite unreleased Kent track.
  9. Just a warning, there's been quite a few demos turn up last couple of months, I bought one for 100 and ended up selling it for like 120 because of the sudden appearance of more copies
  10. How did they come up with the name?
  11. "It's got a good beat" but if Ian Levine had done it he'd have been crucified
  12. Look at this, the guy says "priced at £60 in Record Collectoir", this means either a) they accidentally added a zero or whoever's pricing the soul for them now is a tool. https://cgi.ebay.com/HONEYEND-7-HEARTBREAKE...1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. Can you believe that the record company didn't think this was good enough to release at the time??? It's got just about every ingredient the perfect Northern Soul record should have I reckon
  14. Except for me
  15. RIP Willie Tee, Walking Up A One Way Street has been one of my all time favourite songs since the very first day I heard it. Download Video Youtube Link
  16. Melba Moore - Magic Touch. Would have been Little Ann - What Should I Do but that was around before Kent were so is disqualified.
  17. OK I'll put you down for the next one if it's a definite order.
  18. Nobody said Mark's copy wasn't mint, I still think it should be £200 in ex or mint.
  19. Some people will probably say I priced it too cheap but in the real world, who really believes it's worth £350?
  20. Hmm well Charly wasn't formed til about 1974...
  21. "Get it baby" (or is it "Sister Lee") drum intro sampled at the start.
  22. CAROLYN CRAWFORD - MY SMILE IS JUST A FROWN (TURNED UPSIDE DOWN) / I'LL COME RUNNING - MOTOWN Incredible double sider - I'll Come Running is one of the greatest lesser known Motown tracks. Best copy I've ever had, EX+, £70 THE O'JAYS - NO TIME FOR YOU - IMPERIAL DEMO Great version of The Commands in mint condition. £35 PM if interested, many thanks Pete
  23. Don't think so Ian. Specially compiled for that late 80's/early 90's release.
