  1. Just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a new list out on Monday, all new stuff, all good stuff! Trust me, the next few lists are going to be worth waiting for. A few people asked about whether I was stopping taking card payments, yes I think I will be next month, unless I start charging a percentage for all card transactions. It would be what they charge me, 3%. So if you want to use a card, that has to go on top in future I'm afraid. Of course you can always pay by cheque, cash, or even bank transfer using an IBAN number I can supply you with. And there's the dreaded Paypal, but that's at a 4% charge. Anyway, look out for the list on Monday. Coming up in the next few weeks will be the likes of John Bowie, Herb Ward (Argo), The Chandlers, The Charades, The Four Sights, Eddie Foster, The Miracle Walkers, Syng McGowan, Freddie Williams etc etc. (actually forget the last one, I sold it just now) Cheers Pete
  2. I remember in the very early days of ebay having a bidding war with - I think - Greg Tormo for a mint pic sleeve copy of the Revere one, think it went for about 600 dollars
  3. I will go with this too, one record I've never had through my hands at any time, even my daughter liked this and she hated everything else (including me)
  4. No those are the only clips, one of the threads running through the film is about a rave DJ who used to be on ther Northern scene and won't acknowledge his roots. Good film actually Blue Juice. Catherine Zeta Jones in her pre-Hollywood days for a start
  5. Don't bring this up again, please, at one time I had a full time job providing copies of this for every member of the site
  6. That's called Out On The Floor and trust me, it's terrible. The play I mean. The soundtrack is great though, all Grapevine 45's. I do copies of this now and again...
  7. Dance of the knights by Prokofiev alternated with Better use your head!
  8. About 21 months I think
  9. They're 70's records so they don't count
  10. Oh thank you kind Sir. I try my best.
  11. Good thinking!
  12. Al Wilson's best record has to be "Help Me" on Wand. Except that's a different Al Wilson I think. But it's still great. p.s. how many of you Snake-haters would get up and dance to it at a drunken wedding reception? I bet you'd all be spinning and doing back drops and all the aunties and uncles and grandads would make a circle around you and you'd bathe in the glory
  13. I would doubt it - never heard of her recording for Motown and she was based in NY I think?
  14. He's still only 21 months old
  15. Do many people know this version - same tune as The Sparkels on Old Town 9. Norma Jenkins - Try Love Just One More Time (1:55)
  16. No that one was taken down along with the rest of them, the problem is that at the top of the page it actually says NONE OF THESE PODCASTS ARE WORKING AS THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED BY THE WEB HOSTING COMPANY but nobody reads it! But now they have been removed completely so they are ancient history. The Land Of Love track, I saw someone tip it about 18 months back so I managed to get a couple of copies. I really like it too. Pretty rare, can't remember what I sold my copies for but it was 3 figures.
  17. If I recorded myself letting loose a gallon of bum gravy it would sound somewhat similar to Elipsis so if you buy me a curry I will oblige you
  18. Absolutely fantastic record
  19. I didn't say anything was junk though

  22. On the 'podbean' site there is actually a download button below the player, click that and a new page opens up - on the planet records site you should be able to download by right clicking somewhere on the player
  23. Bit of a confession though you might have guessed due to the alphabetical order of the tracks, usually I do these off the records using 2 decks, this time it was simply to test the new host site so I have the folder on my desktop with all my records in it, I just dragged 20 tracks totally at random and posted them up - having said that, every record I've got in that folder is worth putting up, I either sold or didn't record anything that wasn't up to standard.
  24. F*ck knows
  25. Well yeah I do really, there's nothing I want that I can't get cut from tapes, cd's of my own. Also you've got to remember there's so much stuff goes on behind the scenes, swapping cd's with the instruction "no copies for anyone", people have probably got stuff which is not in public domain - I know I have several cover ups and one-offs which people would be surprised I'd got...If I ask if anyones got a sound file, it's usually because I can't find mine (e.g. lonnie russ last week, used to have it, recorded it, lost it)
