    Wanted

He did, I told Phil, said it was going for usually £100-£125 and I'm sure Phil said no it's only about £40. The Emile Griffiths on TRC, whats it called Going Going Gone I think - thats the same record, and thats about £30 or £40.
  2. Think I've had stuff of him before, no problems - from detroit, right?
  3. Question 1 is nigh on impossible!
  4. Have to disagree Mace, I think this one has dated really well, wasn't keen on it in the 70's but it sounds great now, unlike Can't get Enough which has been played into the ground for 35 years now.
  5. you may have just had one thats been played with a rough stylus Mark, both the vinyl and the styrene boots are of excellent quality, honestly! I used to have a one sided emidisc of this that just said Freddie Jones - My Hearts Wide Open on the label. Used to carry around at school for no reason whatsoever, well ok, so that when people came up to you and asked what the record was you instantly became Charlie Big Potatoes
  6. I guess people on here must have copies of this record but I can honestly say I've never seen one of these before, either in the flesh or on a list/ebay. Obviously the dark blue issue is relatively common but this demo must be tough I reckon.
  7. Sorry but it was booted twice. My own copy is identical to the one Adam describes and it is a boot. This is one of the toughest of all counterfeits to recognise and I always try to buy it as a white demo just to be safe.
  8. Note they can't even spell the word 'village' right
  9. Yeah I tend to agree with this now, looked at my copy again and it can never have been the shade of blue that it should have been so I guess the white/pale ones are early 70's legit reissues
  10. Tone - I always call that period "rude boy", a hybrid between ska and rocksteady like you mention above e.g. The melodians - Lay It On
  11. Sold that album last year, think it had a black cover with a picture of a tribesman on it, really poor compilation actually
  12. No they've been around for ages Mark, first saw them on ebay. They look good though. And if they are unavailable in any official format, I'd buy them I think. Well I haven't, cause I'm not that interested, but what I mean is, if record companies refuse to release stuff, I would buy them elsewhere.
  13. Yep almost certainly coming to sell a few records but I'll probably only stay til Des Parker arrives...
  14. About 6 months ago someone joined up and his first post was to advertise these cd's, he lasted about an hour
  15. This is truly unbelievable. If you've got a newsreader, and please don't ask me to explain all this, go to this page https://www.binsearch.info/?q=rickyroots&am...ge=&server= if the search isn't already there, search for rickyroots and maximum age of posts is 'show all'. You'll get dozens of pages of tracks, there's about 4000 in all, you just tick what you want and download them all for free. There's everything there from mid 60's up to early 80's. Never seen anything like it, honestly. Just one guys collection, absolutely amazing.
  16. I've got an original here and I don't think many people would describe it as pale blue, it may have the tiniest hint of blue but it looks more like eggshell white and Bogue, for what its worth, I don't think yours is a boot - however, I do think you are seriously paranoid
  17. No it's not just you, I said this a year or two ago and got called things like 'miserable bastard' 'spoilsport' 'meldrew' etc. I still think they're sad. Even worse when people have to put a black coloured screw on the numberplate to give the effect of a different letter or slightly slant one of the digits.
  18. Got it on Island...you sure it's on BRA, it's a Studio One cut innit?
  19. Better PM me...
  20. Thanks for the great info guys. Here is the record. It's f*cking terrible. Listen to the out of tune strings right at the end.
  21. Postie just told me she thinks there will be a delivery tomorrow (thursday)
  22. Thanks Ged. Cool is just a run of the mill rock n roll / r & b instrumental, totally different to the other (vocal) side.
  23. SOUL OF GEORGIA - KISS AND RUN / COOL - BLACK SHEEP BS 102. I've found another 45 by them in the guides but not this one and someone wants to buy it but I haven't a clue what to charge. Anyone heard of it, know it? cheers

  25. I support the strike, but 2 x 48 hours strikes in that period of time is too much - they are going to turn the public against them
