  3. The unlucky Carstairs meet with yet another household accident
  4. No, it was an accident prone record, it somehow got run over by a thomas the tank engine, impaled with a knife and fell onto the gas ring of the cooker, all in one day...amazingly three quarters of it still survive but I'm working on that
  5. I saw this on Tim Brown's list on MOnday so did a search on Ebay and found one, won it (sorry Steve) but still have no idea what it is, if it's any good etc, so has anyone heard it? 12 allison & calvin turner EVERY TIME I'M NEAR YOU Lulu 1001 M- £750
  6. I had a Joanne Courcey which I arranged to sell to Max so I said I'd bring it over, so instead of just chucking it under the dashboard or putting it on the seat, I thought I;d put it in a mailer with some card...put the record and card into the mailer, pushed down, and put my thumb through the edge of the record causing a 1" crack. Then there was the legendary time I got a haul of 200 or so records, got fed up of manually cleaning them so put 20 of them in the dishwasher on rinse and melted the lot after forgetting they were in there.

THE PERSIONETTES - IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY / CALL ON ME - OR DEMO M- 40 Don't you just love it when people reserve records than never send for them? Been holding this for 3 weeks for someone. Cheers. ROY HAMILTON - EARTHQUAKE - EPIC DEMO VG 30 Looks a little on the rough side, plays nice and loud, crackly for first 20 seconds, it'd be fine for djing JOE TEX - ALL THE HEAVEN A MAN REALLY NEEDS - DIAL M- 25 Well I listed this for a fiver the other week and was consequently told it was being played and was no longer a fiver, but I was true to my word, sold it for a fiver, then the buyer said he was sending it back because it jumped 5 times. So it came back, I played it, and it played mint. So not sure what that was all about. Anyway it's for sale again but it's not a fiver this time... HERE'S A TIP FOR YOU... Anyone who likes Jamaican r&b, have a look for a record by PATSY called FIND SOMEONE, it came out in the UK on High Note HS 037 in 1970 as the B side to a skinhead instrumental, "Target" by The Gaytones. It was actually recorded much earlier, I'd have said 64-65 and is a really unusual sound, it's got a kind of lolloping r&b brass backing with a solid beat, I sold mine years ago but always looked out for it and I remembered it when someone posted it in the Jamaican R&B section on Soul Source as an unknown...got it straight away. It's still up there in that section if anyone wants to hear it. Mine's only in VG- condition but I think I'd ask £100 for it now, but do look out for it, it's great. 12. Thanks folks, any others you find, send them in, trust me to start a topic then go totally blank and not be able to remember any of them. Presumably there is a two tone Deram label as well as the usual brown/white one.
  13. Loads I think...counterfeited as well
  14. Yes LP only, despite some pressings of the album having a sticker on the front saying "contains the hit single I'm Your Pimp"!
  15. First heard this in 1975. One of the most awesome records I've ever heard, never sounds dated, never sounds anything less than fantastic. I had no idea it was funk!
  16. experimental Scottish rock music from the 70s is rubbish. It has to be experimental Scottish rock music from the 60s.
  17. Sorry Andy but that is a ridiculous analogy. Disregard who sings Tears Of Joy for a moment. The actual record is 100% genuine northern soul. Which is why it is played and accepted as such. So because the guy is a country singer, this one fact opens the door for people to play non-northern soul releated tracks as northern soul???
  18. Agree, 50-60, different version of jimmy robins isn't it?
  19. Get away...
  20. Bloody hell, I'd have still paid that for it just to stick it to my record box!
  21. There was one on ebay yesterday stuck at $20, don't know what it ended up at
  22. I won this record saturday, tried to pay by paypal, some glitch said they couldn't accept paypal at the moment so I emailed and said do you know if there's anything wrong with your paypal account...this morning I got this message...I nearly told them to shove it hello, mayfairmenthol!!! I would like to know how and when you intend on making payment for your purchase. Please advise me whatever you have decided.
