Sorry I can't help you but I wouldn't know what an original looked like anyway!
-
he hasn't played a decent record since Whitchurch closed
-
Nice, like an old Philly instrumental - thought there's a bit in there that sounds remarkably like "Breakaway" (The Valentines)
-
I expected Keb Darge to come and world disco dance circa 1978

Authenticating - Maurice Williams - Being With You

Silver is silver, gold is gold - if it looks silver, it's silver, and a reissue... -
Don't know about play outs but it's still extremely popular - reissued again last year in fact

Really, really bad bootleg of Bobby Goldsboro https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOBBY-GOLDSBOROS-BLUE-AUTUMN-4-TRACK-MONO-RADIO-DJ-PROMO-rare-7-VINYL-RECORD-/161489398576?pt=UK_Records&hash=item259984ab30

Because it's not a forgotten oldie?
-
I use a electro-magnetic jewellery cleaner I go from Aldi! You can see it getting the crap out of the grooves. But thats best for ingrained dirt, for scratches etc, I don't know if anything helps really.

Skimming won't do anything except improve the look of the record Russ.

Maybe a plodder but has such a fantastic vocal...I'd take it over this...but I really love this
-
One of them - the other was You Got To Pay The Price
-
I just played this for the first time in - what - 10 years maybe. I can't tell you how absolutely f*cking brilliant it sounded. One of those records that is so cheap, about £4, but you forget they're what the scene was built on, and it really is a cracking little instrumental. That's all I wanted to say really.

I've got a copy of Marlena Shaw - Let's Wade In The Water on the orange Cadet label with the red ring around the edge and Cadet on the left hand side - I don't think I've ever seen one on this design before but must have seen a hundred on the blue label - any ideas of value, about the same - £50 or so?
-
Could base it on the Carstairs being found and them then playing live at The Mecca reunion. And then passing away knowing the true history of their record.

Early blue ones (Freddie Gorman) in the 'proper' Ric Tic series are stamped. Red ones appear to be all scratched in.
-
Steve, he is first on and plays fairly nondescript versions of Oooh Pretty Lady and You Got To Pay The Price, instrumentals, he doesn't sing anything, maybe he was band leader?
