  1. and once again, why would you expect everyone who watched it to even know who he is? And therefore thats all they do have to go on.
  2. Because you are assuming that everyone on here is au fait with all types of music - many are, but some just aren't interested so there must have been a fair proportion of people who didn't even know who he was when that documentary played. To the layman, Soul II Soul's music is just dismal nightclub pap
  3. I've read it all again and I'm just a little confused as to why you came down so heavy on her. If all opinions were to be formed by his appearance on that documentary alone then he is a reverse racist and a c*ck.
  4. They don't work unfortunately - damn!
  5. That was Dave Withers...well known and respected (ex) dj, dealer and collector
  6. Anyone? Offers?
  7. Yes but does this warrant an award from the Queen?

  9. Yes played it a couple of times now
  10. It's never been reshown...even when UK Gold reran all existing TOTP episodes, it wasn't shown.

  12. For those of you who enjoyed my daft little LOOK AT YOUR BOX - THE MOVIE film which I posted up the other day, I've done the same thing but with the ska, rocksteady and reggae 45's now, so if you'd like to see some exotic and colourful labels of the 60's you might enjoy these - they are in 3 parts Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
  13. No but they did do, for a long time, it was only late 80's prices started climbing high, in 87-88 therewere probably only 30 or so records worth £500 or more
  14. I must be feeling ill or something - I quite like that! Definitely sounds like solo Curtis Mayfield from one of his blaxploitation movie scores though. But yeah, not bad at all
  15. New posts don't show up in the main forum so maybe some people aren't aware of this section or have forgotten - there's an excellent Jamaican r&b/ska/rocksteady/reggae section here /index.php?showforum=49 full of great sounds to listen to

  19. Obviously not for services to Northern Soul documentaries...
  20. Was going to say the same until gareth said £100 so I thought I'd not say anything
  21. Not joking when it's said that it's very hard to spot, I sold an original as a pressing because I didn't look hard enough. There was a second press on styrene by the way, 'jumbled letters' design
  22. Thats what I was thinking about - could have sworn Stop what you're doing and Surrounded by a ray of sunshine came out back to back but I'm obviously thinking of something else, but it definitely came out on a pale blue Pye then a coloured one.
  23. John if you are going to pick flies then I should tell you that the Casino Classics label did not start up until 1977 or 78, thought you'd have known that like
  24. If you can find a track called How Long Will It Take by Pat kelly - well worth listening to as one of the great underrated reggae45's - Peyton Place is a dj version over that backing track
