I haven't heard the Soul City Compared To What John but there are two different versions of it - the one that came out on Bulldog (and probably Ember) in the 70's is a totally different take to the one the USA GM label
Yes thats the one, Any Time Is Right / Harder And Harder - Becket BKS 1 distributed by PRT.
This is of course absolutely no use to me so if anyone wants it they are welcome.
Who's going to price it though?
Just mentioning Archie Bell, I bought a load of 45's and theres one by him on a UK label called Becket - never even heard of the label let alone the track.

This info especially when it's accompanied by photos of this quality is absolutely essential - if you keep this thread running until there is a stockpile of info, I'll pay to get it printed as a book if you want.
No I'm absolutely with you - I like and collect all kinds of music myself from the 40's onwards but the only music I really dislike is modern soul and dance music (Ibiza type stuff). Oh and the stuff they've beencalling reggae since about 1980 onwards. I do like the old 70's chart soul records - it's just 70's onwards soul in the Northern context that I can't stand. After listening to all 50 eipsodes of Bob Dylans Theme Time Radio Hour I also now like Western swing and a bit of country too. Meat Loaf is sh*t though.
I don't mind Soul II Soul either but as I keep trying to explain, if you played their music to a die hard Northern Soulie who didn't listen to much else, they would think it was just ordinary club music, which it is
