  1. Yeah they came a little later, fortunately..
  2. No, don't think it shares backing with anything, but it's the same musicians as on Sister Lee
  3. This is the time of year where I get all of my favourite singles out and play them. I like to call it “Same Records, Different Order”. So if you’ve been listening to my podcasts for years, you’ll be able to predict this track listing without even looking. If not, I think you’ll enjoy this selection of vintage vinyl. Thanks to everyone for all the listening and all the liking this year and Festive Greetings to all of you. 4. Richard unleashed Say It Isn't So, Spaceland, Spellbound and Hank Panky all at the same time. Spellbound wasn't played much, in fact I was surprised to find it on an acetate (that someone had had custom made) I found in a collection in the late 90's, it was never popular enough.

  6. Well at the end of the day, at least we got a very very exciting record story with a happy ending for the seller and buyer.
  7. No what I mean is, he's playing to a massive audience in the prime time slot so he has to at least put in some tunes that people will know. Blimey that Laura Lee "Rip Off", what a track!
  8. You'll still be looking in a years time...
  9. He's playing to a Radio 2 audience so it has to be popular, and I bet only 1% of them had ever heard Tyrone Davis singing before...it was a perfect mix.
  10. Those were followed by Tyrone Davis and Wade In The Water Ramsey lewis
  11. Tim Ashibende started that with a green and white demo of a Morecombe & Wise single
  12. Best thing to do with that version, more people should break their copies
  13. He wasn't even interested when it was discovered so I can promise you he won't be bidding..
  14. The London issue is just going to be a status symbol for a very rich person. As Dave n Pete say above, think what else you could buy with that money if you bought a Revilot copy for a fiver.
  15. It's an absolutely fantastic record, when anyone says it's rubbish I ask what on earth do you want from a Northern / Motown dancer that this hasn't got, and imagine hearing it for the very first time, it would blow you away.
  16. My bid of £3 was a loser then
  17. I've got a feeling I never actually saw that record, I just did the deal.
  18. Yeah I only went on the royal mail site
  19. Many thanks. Looks about £60!
  20. Someone on youtube said that was played at the Casino and was 'the biggest tune', is he having a laugh, I'd like to hear proof that this was ever played there
  21. Can anyone tell me how much it would cost me to send 29 or 30 singles to Canada from the UK please?
  22. Ste this makes it 12 hours worth so far, and there's still another 7 hours left!
  23. 1973 — 1975 Part 3 Well after last weekend’s mega-session, it turned out that all though my 10 hours worth of podcasts were pretty representative of “The Wigan Years”, because my criteria was to play them off vinyl, this means loads of great records had to be missed out. So to put that right, there are now going to be four or five supplementary podcasts containing the best (and worst) of the missing 45’s. Just to remind: the rules where that the track had to be known BY ME from Wigan; whether it was first discovered at The Cats, The Torch, The Mecca, Va Va’s, Cleethorpes — irrelevant — they either had to be on my Wigan live tapes or I had to have heard them played there. They were also in a pretty strict chronological order too, but this latest batch aren’t — they just cover two years but aren’t what was played month by month.
