  1. Me, a bit disappointed as I thought it was going to be rocksteady but it's another soul record from the bloke who did Where Is The Love. Just thought some of you might like to hear it, and before anyone says it's crap, I agree with you. B side has a nice version of Book Of Memories though.
  2. Don't understand your argument. Grapevine records were tailor made for the northern scene and pressed in very large quantities. Rare Stateside record like Hoagy Lands slipped through unnoticed. I'm not talking about it being somehow unauthentic to have Grapevine records, I'm saying that they really are not worth much money.
  3. I'd like to know how come all these records are expensive until I come to sell them then they make f*ck all on ebay? Anyone paying more than £30 for a Grapevine record needs their head testing.
  4. I'm just seeing 2 pics next to one another and no link. The one on the right also has the date scrawled on it.
  5. See if you can find a topic called "rarer issues and demos", there's some fantastic scans posted up there or click the link below https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/?page_id=12
  6. My left is the same as your left unless you're looking at the pc screen through a mirror
  7. one on the left is a boot
  8. I heard this the other day - the joker went wild - and that intro is absolutely fantastic, the backing track is great too - I just think it's a poor song and a crap vocal but tend to agree that there's a lot worse around
  9. No idea where it is sorry...might even have been removed
  10. It's a long running problem, there are a band of people in Mexico who are only ebay to ruin peoples reggae auctions - yes I know it sounds daft - there was a topic about this about 3 months ago. They don't even want the records, they just set out to wreck the auctions.
  11. This record below is worth around £30, at the very maximum, £40... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LLOYD-CLAUDETTE-Quee...id=p3286.c0.m14 on second thoughts...this may be Mexican bidders hijacking the auction
  12. Michigan Move finally came out as the other side of the first bootleg of "Pyramid" Soul Bros Inc
  13. Can't drop prices mate, sorry. Back in the box!
  14. You might regret not buying it!
  15. Carstairs WD 70 Rain WD 50 Billy Watkins DJ 75 might have to ask permission to sell carstairs but I can definitely sell the other two, both superb nick
  16. That bloke is still my best mate by the way...31 years later...he's just so concerned that I should have a good time, you hear him say "don't come to me when you get depressed, I'm having 12 no 14 tonight" I know the use of drugs is not exactly a funny topic but I did laugh when I heard this for the first time in years - I'd actually used the tape, which I only recorded on one side, to record some tracks on for Eddie Hubbard back in 1979, incredibly he still had the tape and he was kind enough to run it off for me.
  17. If the moderators find this in anyway offensive I apologise. Contains swearing. This is the friday night oldies, July 1977, notice how I JUST SAY NO

  21. Not a name I would even associate with reggae to be honest. Not in as far as making a decent record anyway.
  22. Someone might be able to, came out on UK A & M in 1973
  23. It's on Treasure Isle. Very obscure for an advertising company to pick up on
  24. I think it was a tailor made UK thing - they played it a couple of times at our youth club but it was pretty horrible
