  3. Thats the trouble - it's got a fantastic intro but nothing else happens for the entire record except for the 5 second fade out at the end when the intro repeats...boring boring
  4. He was actually right, it is called 'milling' although it's usually referred to as anti-slip milling
  5. Click the play button to hear the sample, I've never heard anything like it https://cgi.ebay.com/rare-R-B-Soul-45-BETTY...86.c0.m14.l1318
  6. I love both versions, though the Four Seasons is a bit too fast and The Velours murders it really. I've got a brilliant recording of the Four Seasons being played at Wigan with MASSIVE clapping, must try and find it.
  7. Jo Wallace are you reading this, didn't I sell you this for...what, £75?
  8. They'll be f*cking freezing before anyone pays £150 for a Janie Grant demo, you'd be lucky to get it for an issue! No offence like Dave. Just recalling the KCP's post.
  9. Mark I think this is a boot only thing mate, it's worth only as much as those other harthon pressings like False Alarm and Bernard Williams
  10. Portmerion, yesterday, soaked to the skin, no umbrella, fed up
  11. I was there yesterday. It pissed down and was full of hippies.
  12. It's actually very hard to sell this, I had a Jotis red issue for about 2 months at 50, then 40, then 30 quid before it sold. I've got another one now if anyone wants it for 30. By the way Bogue if you read this, make a note of it eh? Thats T-H-I-R-T-Y, so next time you say I never sell records for what I claim I do when everyone else is selling them for double...
  13. Just remembered I had a nice Jimmy James EP on Piccadilly featuring This Heart Of Mine, pic below, value anyone?
  14. One of these days I'll make a list of some Mecca tunes 1974-75 and there will be definitely be pop records alongside the Lou Edwards's
  15. It was...DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU ANY DIFFERENT.
  16. Agree with everything you say Paul. Apart from Superlove being any good. Ten Miles High, now you're talking!
  17. "more than enough to fill your loving cup" anyway have to agree this is ostensibly a pop record but it was great at the time, atmospheric, excellent dancer, the business really...don't think the years have been too kind for it but in 76 and 77 this was one of my favourites at Wigan. Don't play it much nowadays.
  18. Mike it's definitely not the same program as the documentary "The Soul Of Stax" that everyone must have seen by now. Some of the same shots are used (William Bell accompanied by piano for instance) but it's 95% different footage.
  19. I'm going to close this thread now as it's going nowhere and I've given the honest truth and facts about what happened, what anyone else wants to do or not do as the case may be is entirely up to them, if you don't see any more lists from me in the future, you'll know why
  20. **** off if you've got nothing constructive to say. I have been trying to explain that I now have no way of earning any money for the next 2 months and you think I'm just moaning?
  21. The facts are that I'd made a deal to buy a collection and when I go to buy them, someone else has bought them from under my nose and no-one has said a dicky bird to me. I've never said anything about boycots and ultimatums, it would have been nice if the people concerned could have added something to this topic seeing as they come on most days. Bottom line, this would have kept me going as a business for another 6 weeks / 2 months maybe, as it is, I've no more stock left so will have to do something else to make a living. People who think that all record dealers live in a gated mansion and eat caviar for breakfast don't have a f*cking clue.
  22. What, and I don't? And I didn't when I was doing my 20 odd years in factories and offices?
  23. see the post above your last one for an update...
  24. Oh look, here we go, no one from Soulmine bothers to come back and post anything whatsoever, and here is a sales post from someone called 'Miner', with an Aldershot phone number (where Soulmine is based), and selling some of the records which I hand picked out as being among the best of the collection that I was meant to be buying. /45s-Sale-t77543.html
