  1. The play - it's on a 3 hour compilation dvd I used to do
  2. Yes the BBC play was called Out On The Floor. It starred Rees Dinsdale (think thats right). I am still convinced that this was filmed in the Casino because I can't see how the could have recreated it so accurately. The play is utter crap but the soundtrack - all culled from Grapevine singles and lp's - is very good. Needless to say if anyone wants a copy of this I can supply it.
  3. Possibly the worst seller on ebay, never seen so many negatives, how does he stay on there? 65 negatives and thats just in the last 12 months. Sent me a record which hissed for the first 30 seconds, when I complained he said what do you expect for a 40 year old record... https://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=thud...by&ref=home
  4. Don't think so - quite a lot of Philips 45's have both colours. Neither is worth much.
  5. Sorry, looks like it'll be tomorrow now. My turn to put Sam to bed. Which Thomas story will it be tonight I wonder
  6. Sorry I haven't got one either but if anyone wants to hear this version with the strings way back, I'll be happy to record it
  7. What I was going to say about Eddie Holman though Harry was, it's so obviously Eddie Holman that he couldn't cover it up. Well I wouldn't have thought so.
  8. Never known this played as a cover up Harry.
  9. Because they didn't know what it actually was!
  10. Kev I come from the old school of kids who only ever had a Dansette, with the two knobs on the front, so the bass and the treble are always turned fully to the right to "10"
  11. Scan and full perfect quality sound clip are here now /Rarest-...oup-t78479.html
  12. Jeez! Is it me, or is them who's constantly getting it wrong?
  13. Further to last week's appeal asking if anyone actually knows this record, I've now received it from the friend who wanted me to make enquiries about it. Full clip enclosed below. It's a very, very nice beat ballad, though I don't know if I could ask the £500 that it's currently being listed at elsewhere so if anyone wants it for £250 please contact me. Pat & Lolly Vegas composition incidentally and I bet the daft name is hiding a well known soul man.
  14. Don't be, it's not rare! Might make £75 though if the right ebay customer comes along.
  15. Just listening to this actual record, something struck me straight away - it sounds nothing like it should do - the strings are way back in the mix. I mean, to the point it made me stop and listen as to what was different about it. I don't think this was the case with the Eddie Foster bootleg or any subsequent cd reissues. Very strange.
  16. My worst was the Outasites - For the rest of my life - Saru. Sold to Mick Smith for £100 who sold it to Keb I think same night for £400. I'd never even heard of it!
  17. Go on then, how much we looking at? (I'm selling, not buying)
  18. Just replied to your PM
  19. Just wanted to mention seller 'ringkingpa' aka Jed who I think is on the forum, had a record off him which I had a problem playing on my deck, was going to return, he said to keep it and refunded the money so just wanted to mention something positive about ebay for a change!
  20. I've made a balls up this very morning - Bobby Adams record on Symbol WD - didn't know the price, instead of putting offers I just stuck £40 on it, 6 or 7 calls on it and I had to send out an email saying it had gone and remove it from the list I put on Soul Source - turns out it was £100+...of course I could have always just not sold it to the first person who asked once I'd found out it was worth sommat. But I didn't.
  21. Checked back and it was actually sold for £250!
  22. I've decided to keep this after all...

  24. The red boot simply has 1258 and 1257 on the run offs respectively, nothing else. All the boots are vinyl. Came out Easter 1977, remember it well, it was the weekend that "Jesus of Nazareth" was first shown and Lee Roye, Jean Carter, Earl Grant etc all got reissued/booted that same weekend. Funny how things stick in your head.
