  1. Not that I do it much nowadays, but I always play Rufus Lumley - Stronger Than Me off a carvers I had done, got it put into mono and it sounds incredible...brilliant brilliant record
  2. What about this...this has surely got to be as good as any recent product played on the Northern scene...I think maybe we dismissed the 21st century northern soul project too easily without even listening
  3. Can we possibly hope that it just doesn't concentrate on the over-emphasised acrobatics and more on 'proper' dancing!
  4. Just wondered if anyone had actually seen any of this stuff - the old SWONS footage I mean - what they've done to them is astonishing. All those terrible psychedelic swirly effects have been completely removed and the videos look really contemporary. Nearly 10 years ago I was one of the original films biggest detractors but over time it's become probably the most important historical Northern Soul document that there is (some of it due to the fact that many of it's participants started to pass away after it came out). But this is a different kettle of fish, it's not the original film, it's the performances plus a load of new ones (including Eddie Parker - I'm Gone apparently). Anyway I can assure you this is not an advert on behalf of Ian Levine Ltd - I'm genuinely kind of shocked as to what they've done with the footage - and the new stuff isn't bad either! ">
  5. Yes you did - at the Hollybush - I can remember being surprised then thinking how great it sounded!
  6. If you don't get one, I'll sell you my next one for £50 unless it's a demo then it'll be £60.
  7. Superlatives anything from 40 to 60. Paula Parfitt - very hard to put a price on that one. At a guess, £125 - £150, if you can find a buyer. Very hard to find but obviously can't be used as currency for any dj as no one would be brave enough to play it! I'd buy it though I think, nostalgia reasons.
  8. As for info, it's a Miles Grayson thing I think, Mick Smiths copy - bought off Ian Clark for next to nothing 3 years ago - has the contact number for the groups manager on the label.
  9. It can't have gone from 500 to 3 grand in the space of 2 years.
  10. No doubt a lot of people did stay, I was just saying for a couple of months it got a bit mad.
  11. This has gotten harder and harder to sell recently - you might even pick one up for £50 now. Does nothing for me whatsoever.
  12. So do I! Someone played this at Stoke the other night - Kev Roberts I think - packed the floor.
  13. I sold a copy of this for one of our top DJ's about 3 years back - £1000 - price still about the same I reckon...(haven't seen another for sale since that one!)
  14. Any potential here? Great intro, after that, I've not made up my mind
  15. Just recorded it so I'll post it up in a second.
  16. But oddly enough, the actual Northern scene suffered from the success of Quadrophenia. Suddenly we were overrun with mods. I remember being at a Stafford alldayer when Chris King played My Generation. Green Onions became a top sound at Wigan, not just a once a year spin in Mr M's. I wonder how many of the Mods stayed on the scene or just moved on to whatever was the next youth cult back then.
  17. What a record that is!
  18. Yes it's picture 2 at the top
  19. OK thanks chaps. That's now for sale then at £70 plus postage. Condition mint minus.
  20. LORRAINE CHANDLER fantastic double sider WHAT CAN I DO / TELL ME YOU'RE MINE - RCA 8810 DEMO. Mint. £100. £5 special delivery.
  21. Only ever seen white demos of this, wondered if anyone can price this black issue please
  22. The first boot is pale green by the way, vinyl pressing
