  1. I'm sure there's a Psychedelic Soul thread up already from about a week or two back. I remember a guy came on here about 2 years ago selling an acetate of an unissued version of part 2 (the b side of the original single), totally different - I recorded it but don't know what happened to it
  2. Oh, it looks like the shops opposite the marina pavillion. I almost missed the place for a split second.
  3. Here you go, all Levine discoveries... GIGI & THE CHARMAINES - POOR UNFORTUNATE ME EULA COOPER - LET OUR LOVE GROW HIGHER THE TOPICS - HEY GIRL MARVIN HOLMES - YOU BETTER KEEP HER GEORGE CLINTON - PLEASE DON'T RUN MODERN REDCAPS - NEVER TOO YOUNG THREE DEGREES - CONTACT HAROLD MELVIN - GET OUT AL GARDNER - SWEET BABY HOLLY MAXWELL - DON'T SAY YOU LOVE ME LITTLE DOOLEY - YOU BETTER BE READY DIANE JENKINS - I NEED YOU, TOWAWAY ZONE CHRIS CAMPBELL - YOU GOTTA PAY DUES TOBBI BOWE - GROOVY FEELING JESSE FISHER - YOU'RE NOT LOVING A BEGINNER BILLY WOODS - LET ME MAKE YOU HAPPY ROSE ST JOHN - MEND MY BROKEN HEART CONQUISTADORS - SADNESS AND MADNESS WADE FLEMONS - JEANETTE I could go on but the point is, half of those records didn't go big for 20 years after Ian first played them - that is just a sample from 6 editions of Black Music where he reviewed new discoveries.
  4. Was that photo in your avatar taken at St leonards On Sea?
  5. Nah, thats a pretty dodgy bootleg, the original is purple with a great cartoon of a 'sassy kitten' on it - the record labels words not mine

  7. I didn't, but thanks Wendy
  8. Cleethorpes I think...love that as well
  9. Thats where I first heard it, I never went to the Mecca except for an alldayer, never went to Cleethorpes or St Ives, was only ever interested in going to Wigan and couldn't bear to miss a week to be honest
  10. I remember buying this 3 times at Wigan - £8, £8 and £10. Loved it back then, haven't had one since.
  11. Summer In The Parks is brilliant too. One of my favourite Wigan records.

  14. Why would you want to see the thread closed. Honestly, sometimes it's like being at school on here. Who cares if it's gone over 1000 posts, at least it's been interesting.
  15. The sleeve was a lot better than the record
  16. I'm susprised anyone ever made it to the last 30 seconds
  17. 18 posts and already patronising the regulars
  18. Ah that may well be it. thanks
  19. But people can only be paid if the records sell or get airplay, can't they?
  20. It was definitely the Joanie Sommers record but sung in French I think - seem to remember it was a Belgian only release but I can't remember the artist or label. I didn't imagine this, did I?
  21. Still don't make it any good though...I used to request Green Door, look at me now
