  1. That's correct
  2. You'll be able to get a boot of it off Ebay, it was pressed about 4 years back and there are hundreds about. The 1977 boot is quite tough but still only worth 30 quid.
  3. No Smoking is actually Chris Rainbow
  4. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD ANY DECENT NEW DVD MATERIAL BUT THIS DISC IS FANTASTIC...SOME OF THE BEST ARCHIVE FOOTAGE I'VE BEEN ABLE TO GET HOLD OF. CONTENTS INCLUDE: THE CRADLE OF RHYTHM & BLUES - A BRILLIANT DOCUMENTARY ABOUT CHICAGO SOUL AND IT'S LEGENDARY 'RECORD ROW' WHERE MANY OF THE FAMOUS RECORD LABELS WERE HOUSED. IT MAINLY DEALS WITH CHESS AND VEEJAY BUT ALSO TOUCHES ON MANY OF THE OTHER SMALLER LABELS AND FEATURES GREAT FOOTAGE FROM THE LIKES OF BETTY EVERETT, MAJOR LANCE, ETTA JAMES, GENE CHANDLER ETC AND INTERVIEWS WITH MANY LEGENDARY NAMES FROM THE CHICAGO MUSIC SCENE OF THE 60'S. IT'S NARRATED BY ETTA JAMES HERSELF AND WAS ONLY SHOWN IN THE USA ON A PUBLIC FUNDED CHANNEL. SECONDLY, A 1970 DOCUMENTARY FROM SWEDISH TV ABOUT THE FAME RECORDING STUDIOS IN MUSCLE SHOALS. QUALITY IS NOT PERFECT BUT YOU GET TO SEE THE MUSICIANS AND PRODUCERS IN THE STUDIO - PROBABLY THE ONLY FOOTAGE IN EXISTENCE. THEN THERE'S AN INCREDIBLE CONCERT FROM GERMAN TV FEATURING SAM & DAVE AT THEIR VERY PEAK - THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE WELL KNOWN FOOTAGE FROM THE STAX VOLT TOUR - THIS IS THEIR OWN SHOW AND THEY EVEN HAVE LEE DORSEY AS SUPPORT, PERFORMING 'GET OUT OF MY LIFE WOMAN' AND 'RIDE YOUR PONY' OTHER ITEMS ON THIS DISC INCLUDE SYL JOHNSON LIVE, AND AMAZING FOOTAGE OF THE SHOWSTOPPERS PERFORMING 'AIN'T NOTHING BUT A HOUSEPARTY' LIVE ON TOP OF THE POPS BACK IN 1971. NONE OF THIS FOOTAGE IS AVAILABLE ON OR PIRATED FROM LEGAL SOURCES. IT ONLY EXISTS VIA COLLECTORS. PRICE 12.00 INCLUDING POSTAGE. THIS IS NO FRILLS, I HAVEN'T DONE A COVER AND IT'LL COME IN A PLASTIC SLEEVE, BUT IT DOES HAVE A FULLY ANIMATED MENU SO YOU CAN CHOOSE WHAT YOU WATCH. Ring or email if you want a copy Pete.smith@freeuk.com 01902 893569
  5. But you said yesterday you were too busy listening to soul music to take any notice of what was in the pop charts
  6. Cheers Baz
  7. It's me!! Bloomin old picture, I haven't worn earings for years
  8. You know when you see records in loadsof boxes and you think they must be pretty hopeless cos everone's got copies...well I hadthis record and sold it to Wulfie about a year ago, I'd had it before but never actually played it - when I did play it I wasabsolutely blown away. So anyway, it's still only £20, I haven't got one for sale but here's a link to a sound clip.. https://soundflies.puresoulie.com/ruby%20jo...weak%20spot.mp3
  9. Hello Jock, is it national overreaction day in Scotland today or something
  10. No sorry Ian, was only seeing if he was paying attention, we're friends really.
  11. Masqueraders is a ridiculously inflated price, if we're talking about "How" - magnificent record but worth no more than £500. Note on the Miki farrow bootleg, the karate character has no eyes and nose
  12. It's Chris Rainbow
  13. Why, they were on Polydor!
  14. John, you're right, I don't know when they phased out the inverted matrix but I've just looked at one from 1972 and it hasn't got it.
  15. A singer-songwriter popular in the mid 70's, had a minor hit with "Give me what I cry for"
  16. It's f*cking Chris Rainbow, I wish you lot would listen to me, I've won "The Mount" pop quiz two months on the trot now, singlehandedly against teams of up to eight people so you should believe me, not some record producer
  17. I can now announce that Mickey Moonshine was in fact a pseudonym. The guy's real name was Norman Moonshine.
  18. There was a laughing smiley at the end of my vicious verbal attack you puff
  19. It's f*ckin Chris Rainbow. Levine isn't right all the time. Pip Williams was the arranger or producer.
