  1. Still way too expensive though
  2. Hard question because of selling things back in the old days that weren't considered rare: lenny Curtis £5, Tommy Bush £8 and so on. Recent times, Mr Lucky - I was born to love you (with a crack in it) - sold for undisclosed 4 figure sum (will tell by pm) (although that was the most expensive it's probably not the rarest, the rarest might be the two unissued Motown acetates I sold as they are one offs)
  3. This one Ady? This is actually still here in my box, I sold it to my mate John for peanuts really, mainly because I wanted it to go to someone who'd never sell it, but it is actually here.
  4. pale blue issue is easily the rarest though some turned up a couple of years back and I remember being unable to sell an issue even at 100 quid
  5. It was definitely played, on import, can't have been for long though.
  6. This topic needs to be more clearly defined because it's just turned into a list of records played at Wigan. For instance, Sam Williams, magnificent record as it is, used to empty the floor. Sue Lynne was a big spin for a few weeks but never what you'd call a 'number one' to the extent of Tainted Love. Malc Burton's list is by far and away the one that meets the criteria of the original post best.
  7. Books at 150 - I listed it for 120 - I sold it for 110
  8. Don't think it has but I think the Press label has. I'll have to go through the lot and list them, see how many we found altogether
  9. Great record but hardly rare!
  10. panic tainted love goodbye nothin to say
  11. No. Doesn't matter anyway, it was ages ago.
  12. No it wasn't, it was next to nothing cos I didn't know what it was.
  13. afternoon of the rhino footsee night owl i'm comin home in the mornin don't take it out on this world
  14. Both rare but I think I'd have to say issue is rarer than promo.
  15. Well I've had a go at it...
  16. I sold it mate..
  17. It was in a bunch of records I'd never heard of and couldn't find in any books. This was 2 years ago.
  18. OH great, I sold this to Paul Havekin for about 20 quid.
  19. FOR SALE LARRY ATKINS - LIGHTEN UP / AIN'T THAT LOVE ENOUGH - HIGHLAND 1192 YELLOW LABEL ORIGINAL. LIGHTEN UP IS NEAR MINT / AIN'T THAT LOVE ENOUGH HAS A CUE BURN BEFORE THE RECORD STARTS AND ON THE FIRST NOTE. I WILL ENCLOSE A SAMPLE SO YOU CAN HEAR EXACTLY WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE. MANSHIP HAS THIS AT 150 MINT ISSUE, I WANT 95 QUID FOR THIS BECAUSE OF THE SMALL PROBLEM AT THE BEGINNING OF ONE SIDE. LABELS, VINYL, LOOK BEAUTIFUL CHEERS PETE
  20. Del I'm sure I've posted that tape up already - or maybe it's on one of my podcasts. Mark is that the one with Searling playing Don Gardner, 7th Ave Aviators, Court Davis? My tape of that was in stereo!
  21. think she's actually from Dudley... Jenny Allen (Wren) The name of Jenny Allen first came to local notice in 1964 when she was a mere 15 year-old. She was originally backed by a group called Les Jondors. She signed a recording contract in 1965 and took the name Jenny Wren. She was still a pupil at the then Sir Gilbert Claughton School in Dudley. She apparently got her break as a result of Fontana's A&R man, Jack Baverstock, (so influential with Ambrose Slade) hearing her. She released two records on Fontana, Chasing My Dreams All Over Town and The Merry-Go-Round Is Slowing You Down. She appeared at the Civic with Manfred Mann and Wayne Fontana. Her later backing groups were called the Jackdaws, Outlook and Fashion.
  22. I was being facetious
  23. Russ Abbott Dave
