Same seller as above, Bobby Garrett bootleg £100 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bobby-Garrett-/161550021499?pt=UK_Records&hash=item259d21b37b
-
Dear me. £5 would be charitable.
-
It's off the karaoke cd as mentioned above Rick, if you want an mp3 of it give me a shout
-
25 bids on that lot...
-
They had a Blue Brothers Tribute band recently
-
I asked my missus, who likes Gladys Knight, whats the most she'd pay to go see her and she said £25 if someone else paid for it. I wouldn't pay £55 to see Bowie let alone Gladys.
-
I can't think of any reason whatsoever that I would want to go out of my house and pay money to see Gladys Knight. If she was playing at our local pub I might pop in, but I certainly wouldn't pay more than a fiver. 30 or 40 years ago maybe.
-
Just trying to get my head round this. How can Gladys Knight charge £60 a ticket? Why would anyone pay that?
-
How much????
-
It's really rare, I've only ever had one copy, I sold that for £500 and that was a good 12 years ago. Fantastic record.

Wilma Lee - Come Back To Me: Do You Know Something About?
Pete S replied to a topic in Look At Your Box
There's a very famous Wilma Lee but she's a country singer and I don't think this would be her? The Al Browne Band have a few recirds though https://www.discogs.com/artist/1605816-Al-Brownes-Band can't tell you anything else - sounds about 1959 to me though -
You know what could have happened though, it could have been one those weird reprocessed stereo album where the vocal is only in one speaker (e.g. brenda holloway when I'm gone) and that made it sound like an instrumental. I made an inst out of said Brenda Holloway track. I do have a proper inst of this old heart of mine if you want it Rick

I don't mate sorry...had two at the time as well!

Richard Searling's 1990's Cellarfull Of Soul Show
Pete S replied to Mick Sway's topic in All About the SOUL
Well done with the Mick, many thanks for sharing them. -
I have to correct that statement above, it is on the Bitty McLean cd for some reason, but it's the straight instrumental version (also in poor quality!)
-
I think it's only on a Jamaican 7", credited to Jackie Mittoo & the Soul Brothers - poor quality recording - there is a vocal by Bitty McLean using that same backing track which is nice
-
CORRECT!!!
-
No as I said, alt take by Danny Monday is on a Kent 45. Also on that podcast of mine that Tabs mentions above.
-
The one I'm on about above is a second Danny Monday version by the way
-
The one you won't have heard very often is a Kent release, totally different version, they put it out on a 7" a few years back. Original is miles better imo.
-
Cheers, I took £75 on it, I'd listed it 3 times already in the last 6 weeks, obviously nobody saw it!
-
The top one is the 1977 reissue, apparently the vocals were re-recorded by Charles Diamond. The bottom one is the original 60's recording and the one that is super rare. They are both awesome to my ears, but I prefer the remake myself.
-
Cheers Dave. I think 6 By 6 could be pretty rare in that format.
