  7. So this one isn't an original? I'm shocked!
  8. I remember travelling from Hastings to an allnighter in Walsall in 1988 or 89 where Ted played this and I wrote that I'd have done the 400 mile round trip just to hear that record. I wouldn't now, obviously...
  9. No but when it was discovered it was classed as Northern, and thats what he meant, I think, R & B was never mentioned then.
  10. Please by all means disagree with my comments, that doesn't bother me in the slightest, but I take offence when you single me out for mentioning Lee David when I was the last one to do so. But anyway while I'm here, I'll tell you why I don't like it. It's the girl backing vocalists and the way they pronounce it, like Johnny Rotten or Mark E Smith: "Temptations-a callin my name-a". Well mainly that anyway.
  11. Thanks Mark - anyone know who it is then?
  12. Was it by Lonnie Youngblood - Funky something Corners maybe? Can someone refosoul it up for me please? thanks...
  13. Why don't you put a sock in it instead of constantly trolling around after me trying to get a sarcy comment in and score a point any time you can, it's pathetic. Everyone else is talking about Lee David, so I talk about it, and it's out of order according to you. So go and put the same comment on everyone else's posts then.
  14. No it's the 60's one Baz, well to be honest, that's the only one I know. List updated.
  15. KInnell if you'd have done that with me I'd have sent you the records anyway and casually mentioned there was no postage included, some people are so tight.
  16. Sounds unbelievable but I bought a Dickie Wonder off an online (soul) shop last year for £10. They thought it was a reissue - I guess it was - still got 150 quid for it though
  17. Styrene, and it's dark blue instead of paler blue, and it'll have a different delta number too which I can't quite you right at this moment, but the label is far darker blue
  18. Title: darlene love - a long way to be happy - philles Artist: darlene love Track: a long way to be happy Label: unissued Info: this was always meant to be be a single release but was withdrawn at the last moment. what a vocal, what a production. 84820 view soul record info
  19. We'll see about that...
  20. Just me who doesn't like Lee David then? If it had been played by Minshull off a UK CBS demo in 1978 it would be considered pop garbage. Love Gwen & Ray though.
  21. and there's one by Dinah Lee on UK Aladdin
  22. He's confused Geoff. There is no lp of that title. He did a single called Fu Manchu which contain the lyrics "This is the face of Fu Man Chu" (which I actually posted up in the reggae section last week) on the Pyramid label, which is valued at £45 in Record Collector but I've bid £125 on it and missed out.
