What Do You Most Hate About The Scene
Trouble is, in a thread 3 years old someone says they like Kiki Dee so I comment 'oh yeah I quite like that too' and the next thing, you Paul are having me pull it out of my dj box as my hot new tip for the top when I haven't even got the record. Some memory you have there.

I like both. And reggae. And punk.

What in the name of all thats holy do you know about my 'playbox', have you ever seen a list of what records I play? Have you actually ever seen any of my records? Have you actually ever met me to look through my records? * actually last time out I played Chapter Five. I always play Chapter Five.

What Do You Most Hate About The Scene
I'd like to quote DUNDEE DAVIE as these are my favourite parts of this discussion what i also hate is people who say things like " if you don't like this you don't like soul music " about some wishy-washy crossover tune with as much balls as a convent ....i'm perfectly capable of deciding what i like . lump along with that the holier than though attitude of " i like all era's me" , well bully for you now off ya pop and polish yer halo somewhere else

Frankie Valli
Thinkl it was because I played my moms records from an early age, and I mean like 18 months, there were always records everywhere, by the time I was 9 I had bought (and don't go thinking I was rich, they were all ex charts) martha & vandellas - DITS, rolling stones - honky tonk women, beatles - get back, beatles - hey jude, beatles - ballad of john and yoko, the move - blackberry way, desmond dekker - israelites, the foundations - build me up buttercup, the archies - sugar sugar...I even bought, and I still don't know how I can have heard it, marvin gaye & tammi terrell - you ain't livin until you're lovin...actually probably heard it on the radio same as I heard Timebox.

Hold On, Help Is On The Way - G Davis &r D Tyler
Wasn't it an extra track added to an Aaron Neville album as a filler? Might be wrong. Old Cats and Wigan sound, sounds ten times better loud than it does at home though...

What Do You Most Hate About The Scene
If you're going to be on the Northern scene Paul, first someone has to sit down and tell you the difference between 'soul' and 'northern soul' because it's evident that you haven't got a clue. For instance, you'll start telling people that I Can't Help Loving You by Paul Anka isn't Northern Soul because it's by a white Italian-American and not a black Afro-American, and thats why nobody can take any of you up-your-own-arse types seriously. No offence like.

Like what?

What Do You Most Hate About The Scene
I can't stand blinkered types who think that anything black is soul music and modern disco shit is Northern Soul

Frankie Valli
Not on about soul, it's just a better version...nearly bought it when I was 8 years old

Frank Wilson On Soul Auction
Oh and p.s. - who cares?

Frank Wilson On Soul Auction
You are so overeacting here. Every week you'd get reviews in Black Echoes from the likes of Dave McCadden who would talk about records under their cover up names. Kev is listing a record in his top 5, not trying to sell the bootleg. And yes he did bootleg it. But thats not the point - he's not advertising and selling it in that instance.

Sounds ok to me except for the wine, I'm tee-total now! (Things I never expected to say # 1)

Is E-bay Diminishing Rapidly?
Paul is 100% right, especially about the move to shop...Ebay wants to become more like Amazon and push out the small time sellers. The new management keep shooting themselves in the foot and shareholders are unhappy at the loss of profit.

I love It's Raining Men. It's also Homer Simpson's favourite record
-
Kelly St Clair
Can you explain this statement? Because you don't like a 60's record you think it should be replaced with a modern record? Should I replace all my vinyl with cd's?
