Probably a donation to my rent. That first one is a cracker, the second one, most of that was rare at the time.

Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in Record Sales
Not as far as I can remember Dave -
No that was called Kingston to Detroit - half ska, half soul - that was a podcast I did, think it's still up there definitely not Trinidad (Pete Smith The Calypso years)
-
Ah see what you mean.
-
Mick I can guarantee you I have never sold anything made in Trinidad. I've never sold white label cd's either. I've sold cd's...where they just white cd's?
-
Pete, don't think I knew your brother but my condolences for your loss
-
Correct. Trod on the f*cker.
-
Trinidad???

Nor me, but I was once...when I lived in Hastings, this was way back in about 2000, some guys were putting on an event in the town and asked me if I wanted to do a spot for them, I said yeah sure, anyway when they printed the posters it said "Pete Smith, Planet records, ex-Wigan Casino" so I said, er, I never DJ'd at Wigan Casino or even claim to have, and the guy said "Yes but you went didn't you, that's good enough"
-
They are, but are 10 of them worth £450? More like £75..
-
That guy is earning more than me selling pressings with stuck on labels than I am selling originals

Skimming On Post! Since When Did 1St Class Signed For Cost £5?
Pete S replied to Mal C's topic in Look At Your Box
Rip off! You can post 3 records for the price of 1 so that extra 50p is extortion. As I have mentioned - 3 x 45 in a mailer with two pieces of cardboard costs £2.34 I charge £2.50 so I get 16p back -
Just to say that Discogs have removed the feedback now for me. Cheers everyone.

Skimming On Post! Since When Did 1St Class Signed For Cost £5?
Pete S replied to Mal C's topic in Look At Your Box
I drive to the post office every day. Otherwise I couldn't get mail sent. I don't think it would go down to well if I put on my lists "have added £2.50 on for you to pay for my petrol", so if seller is charging £2.50 every time he sells a record, he's getting an awful lot of free petrol! -

Pete S replied to Mal C's topic in Look At Your Box
Nothing wrong with complaining about it, I moan about it all the time, if I can send THREE records for £2.34 then everyone else can. Who is charging £5 for 1st class post? Just don't deal with them... -

Got a right d*ck on Discogs my message to Discogs I had a record for sale, plainly stated as an unofficial release; a buyer contacted me and asked me if it was a reissue or an original. I told him it was 100% reissue/bootleg and that I would not sell a reissue and pretend it is an original. Today I find he has left me neutral feedback because "he bought the wrong version". Now what fault is it of mine that he bought the wrong version? I was honest in my description, and I also confirmed to him in writing exactly what the record I was selling was. Are you able to remove this feedback or am I stuck with it? details are below: 192422865 Bobbi Lynn — Earthquake / Opportunity Street (7", Single, Promo, Unofficial) (Elf (2) — 90,009) Media Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+) Sleeve Condition: Not Graded Paper scuffs but excellent plus £12.00 Q: Hi,your ad says unofficial promo, does that mean a boot or is this original?. I would only wish to buy if on orig.demo, thanks My Answer: Peter, no it’s exactly that — unofficial = bootleg. I wouldn’t try and pass off a boot as an original. Original will cost 30 or 40 quid. I have a UK Stateside demo original but not on US. cheers pete The feedback he left for me: Record was not the issue I required WELL WHY DID YOU F*CKING BUY IT THEN???
