  1. I remember all that Motown stuff you sent in Tom. That was 20 years ago, unbelievable isn't it. Wish I had a set of the magazines myself! By the way it wasn't Rob Pheasant's Fork In The Road, it was Roy Gelder's.
  2. Steve, pay me for a record, I won't send it to you but I'll keep your money - what will you do, apart from cry like a girl?
  3. NICE COPY OF BABY DON'T YOU WEEP - EDWARD HAMILTON & THE ARABIANS - MARY JANE. NASHVILLE MATRIX STAMPED. EX. £250 free special delivery postage. 01902 893569 pete.smith@freeuk.com
  4. I didn't suggest the police should be involved though, someone else did, I just said that I, me, probably would have done something to try and get my money back by now, whether that involved trading standards, the police, MI5, the CIA or Inspector Gene Hunt. And I know I was shouting.
  5. No I didn't, I said that I, personally, would have gone to trading standards or the police if someone stole money off me, so I obviously do believe that is not a waste of police time, or should we let all shoplifters, fraudsters, burglars go free, what about murderers, should we let them off because it's a waste of police resources, Peter Sutcliffe, shall we let him out of prison cos he didn't mean to kill those women? Thin end of the wedge. I AM NOT SUGGESTING THAT ANDY & TRACY ARE SHOPLIFTERS, FRAUDSTERS, BURGLARS OR MURDERERS. hey what about if you bought a record off me for £100 but I accidentally sold it to someone else, but I kept your money anyway. Would you just let me keep it or would you take steps to retrieve your money? OH AND BUY THE WAY, IT WASN'T ME WHO SUGGESTED THE POLICE SO TAKE IT ELSEWHERE EH?
  6. If they'd took money off me and not provided what it was I'd pay for, then I would have already been to the trading standards office and if that failed I would have gone to the police, what's your problem with that, a lot of people have been ripped off and you're defending that are you - good to know you've got the customers best interests at heart. And no I don't want an argument, but I'd love to know your reasons for defending them.
  7. Er...taking money off people and not giving it back is against the law isn't it?
  8. No it's not a known 'name' but Max will know who I mean - chap who used to work in our local record shop/tv repair shop, apparently according to carl Dene he was a bit of a dark horse and attended the Cats from 1967 onwards, never danced, just listened. Every time I asked him if he knew a record, the next day he'd bring one in for me.
  9. You are right. It was definitely covered as Baby Washington Harry, I posted up a Casino tape from the 7th anniversary where Richard plays it, absolutely fantastic record. I must have had 6 copies of this, always bought it for myself but ended up selling it. That version on the cd is identical as far as I can tell, though there is also an intrumental version of it. And I agree with Tim, doesn't need pitching up.
  10. If Chalky sells his I'll sell mine as well, it's not been opened for about 8 years
  11. He said exactly the same to me Kev at Pep's do in Walsall, I said "Really?????" LOL Do you remember at the Locarno when I somehow managed to pull that roller towel cabinet off the wall and into my face, split my nose open and Helen put a plaster over it to stop it bleeding, except the plaster was about 6 inches long and went right across my face like Adam Ant. The next day when the tablets had nearly wore off I went to hospital to get it stitched and I was told by a nurse to drop my trousers for an injection, I thought she was going to stick it in my arse so I took my trousers and pants off and stood there half naked like a lemon, and she says "It's ok Mr Smith, I'm only going to put it in your thigh"
  12. This guy I used to know was partly responsible for getting the Billy Harner released on kama Sutra and he told me that they sent most of them back because when they came, they had the instrumental instead of the vocal! 100% certain of this story and the guy in question
  13. Fork In The Road scan here, not great pic to be honest but if I can find the original I will, it's on issue 7 cover https://roundblackrecords.piczo.com/soulmag...;linkvar=000044
  14. If someone can find Rob Pheasants website, he has scans of the covers of all my old fanzines and the Fork In The Road issue is on the cover of issue 6 or 7
  15. There's some cloth eared people on this site
  16. Never seen an issue of that I don't think, only demos - very bizarre track, I once found their LP and it was all cover versions of chart hits - except for that track.
  17. Yeah very rare, sought after because of that I think rather than whats on the vinyl, good as it is. It's harder than the demo but would only sell for the same price.
  18. It's an interesting list but hardly 'Holy Grail' stuff, except the Barbara Mills issue. Applejacks is a great version. Never known why The Ciinderellas is even listed as it's 100% girl group, not Northern.
  19. I used to have the Emidisc of the other side!!!
  20. No but he literally lives 3 miles from here! This is him...under the psuedonym he had a very near hit with in 1969
  21. Boiiiiinnnngggggg
  22. I remember having that Stay With Me with a picture sleeve and Bonnie Herman looked absolutely stunning, it was worth buying just for the sleeve
  23. Cheers mate, only want a complete sound file of it though, not the record
  24. I need a recording of this for a friend. Honestly, it is for someone else, not me. "Al James and the New Rhythm Band " (Give me up turn me loose) any help much appreciated cheers pete
