The Epitome Of Northern Soul?
- Otis Smith "let Her Go"
Depends on: whether it's an authentic one or one that was made after the record was big on the scene; whether it's a different version; if a different version, then you're talking the same as the released one and a bit extra, if it's the same, then not much really.- Refsoul Uploading And Intergration Is Back
It's working Mike!- Best 45' Ever On Styrene
Keep going Brett, these are all brand new topics which need to be discussed. My answer is JD Bryant.- Info On The Persionettes
I've got an issue and a demo on OR at the moment, "It happens every day" is so good, just can't understand why nobody buys it off me!- Calling Any Detroit Experts
Had a conversation with someone who really does know about these things and they say it is almost certainly an unissued Popcorn Wylie production.- Silky Hargreaves/brice Coefield
It's an auction though - not a reliable way of pricing records if two or three people want the same item- Patti Austin - He's Good Enought For Me - Coral Issue
This one's beautiful, a mint stock copy of Patti Austin - He's good enough for me. Superb midtempo sound. £135 including postage. SOLD- Calling Any Detroit Experts
Sorry, had to remove the sound clip. Can still send it to anyone who wants to hear it.- Little Anthony Refund
I had someone stiff me on a record and I reported him - then again, that was ebay - but it shouldn't make much difference really. Them or the police...- Little Anthony Refund
You should all get together and go to the local Trading Standards - they will definitely act on your behalf- Calling Any Detroit Experts
Anyone think the backing track is similar to Karate Boogaloo?- Calling Any Detroit Experts
I honestly loved it first time I heard it and my actual bid was double what I got it for - it sounds really brilliant through my speakers (sounds very tinny on my other computer. It's definitely Mike Terry, I'd bet every record I've got on it.- Sitting In The Park - Billy Stewart Or Georgie Fame
I know he's not, but he was for that briefest of moments- How Dodgy Is This?
It's still a dodgy label...- Sitting In The Park - Billy Stewart Or Georgie Fame
That makes it sound like I was just being facetious for the sake of it when I said I prefered GF's version - why CAN'T I prefer that version or is at against soul police rules? And note I'm not the only one saying it..- Len Barry Lp
The thing is - yes, there may be only 3 test presses but they must have done a full run of finished stock copies, so they've either all been dumped or they are still waiting to be found.- Calling Any Detroit Experts
I actually liked the vocal as well, I'm just thinking of it from the point of what it would sound like out loud, not on my pc or my stereo...I wouldn't pay out for sommat like that usually but it's got some big potential. I compared it to Nothing Sweeter Than Love's B side and I think it's him. Anyway I just got offered almost 2 months rent money for it so it wasn't money wasted- Calling Any Detroit Experts
Whatchoo talkin bout Dave, the production is stonking, listen to the bass!- Calling Any Detroit Experts
No, this is way way better than that one. Completely different track. Hang on I'll see if I can a clip up.- How Dodgy Is This?
One of the most blatant fakes I've ever seen - Mick Smith told me he asked the seller if it was an original and the seller said it had only ever been bootlegged on the Contact label - which I presume this is, with another label stuck on top https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280357258792&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:GB:1123#ebayphotohosting- Calling Any Detroit Experts
I bought quite an expensive acetate on ebay last night, it was wrongly titled 'Jingle jangle' but I think it's actually called 'The Tingle' and it's so blatantly obvious that it's a Detroit production from around 1965-66, in my opinion Mike Terry's distinctive sax can plainly be heard and you only have to listen to the drum fills to realise it's the same guy who played on many of Popcorn Wylie's productions (Uriel Jones maybe?) - the vocalist is a kid and I reckon there's a good chance of it being Carl Carlton. Anyway, vocals aside, the backing track is a monster and could do some real damage on the dancefloors. If any of you think you can shed any light on it, please send me your email address and I'll send you a recording of it. Thanks.- Walter And The Admerations Singing Along Live
Fantastic mate, thank you - Otis Smith "let Her Go"
