  1. I'd have loved these but I chucked my betamax away a few years back. As for the fast forward / rewinding business - I actually used to have a betmax tape rewinder, it's exactly what it says it is. They must be very rare now but they do exist!
  2. Yes it probably is - I just like this particular record more than the original - and I love the original.
  3. Well I've seen it all now, a UK copy of Steve Karmen - Breakaway (UA demo) sitting at 61 quid with 3 weeks to go.
  4. Very well done you lot. The kids look like they are having the greatest time.
  5. Also need kenny Roberts - Run like the devil - pye demo also any other Pye and Piccadilly demos which I don't have, don't mind if they are girly pop stompers, beat etc
  6. Would definitely be interested in that. Typically, I sold one last year before I started collecting again.
  7. Yeah but it's 40 quid more than it's really worth on there!
  8. You're missing the point here, nobody in their right mind would say that georgie Fame is a better soul singer than Billy Stewart, all I was saying in the original post is that I prefer Georgie Fame's version - because of it's musical and vocal arrangement. Sometimes, copies are better than the originals - case in point is one mentioned elsewhere, Bessie Banks vs The Moody Blues versions of Go Now - the cover absolutely murders the original, which sounds like a demo that should never have been released.
  9. I've got the Mike Cotton demo but not the other two - might well be interested, cheers
  10. Am looking for the following records, could you please let me know how much you want for them as opposed to me making an offer as it will be lower than you're thinking! THE CHANTELLES - THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT YOU - POLYDOR LESLEY DAWSON - RUN FOR SHELTER - MERCURY JENNY WREN - CHASING MY DREAM ALL OVER TOWN - FONTANA BARRY ST JOHN - GOT A BRAND NEW MAN - COLUMBIA DAVID WALKER - RING THE CHANGES - RCA (DEMO) OLIVER BOND - I SAW YOU ALL ALONE - PARLOPHONE (DEMO) JEANNIE LAMBE - DAY AFTER DAY - CBS (DEMO) LESELEY DUNCAN - SEE THAT GUY - MERCURY JOHN LEES GROUNDHOGS - I'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN - PLANET LINDA LEWIS - YOU TURNED MY BITTER INTO SWEET - POLYDOR APPLEJACKS - YOU BEEN CHEATING - CBS (DEMO) KIKI DEE - ON A MAGIC CARPET RIDE - FONTANA THE UNIQUES - NOT TOO LONG AGO - PYE INT (DEMO) KOOBAS - SWEET MUSIC - COLUMBIA (DEMO) TWIGGY - BEAUTIFUL DREAMS - EMBER (DEMO) CLEO LAINE - NIGHT OWL - FONTANA (DEMO) ANY DECENT UK LABEL DEMOS I HAVEN'T ALREADY GOT
  11. I don't know, I'm confused now, but KCP's = Kansas City Playboys if thats any help...
  12. The chances of this happening must be thousands to one but I was putting together this weekends podcast last night and I actually recorded that record, and while it was on I thought "I bet this is the only northern record to feature yodelling" and I swear that on my kids lives. Incredible coincidence. The record has the same backing as Quittin Time and came out on Wheelsville and CBS (UK) which I have it on. Never heard it played out.
  13. Must be wrong section - this one is All About The Soul
  14. Can I just point you to this clip I put up...makes the hairs on your neck stand up hearing that clapping
  15. DUPLICATE POST Can I just point you to this clip I put up...spine tingling /more/soul-library/martha-reeves-live-at-wigan-casino
  16. Martha Reeves live at Wigan Casino Posted info: ; Having a few problems getting this to work but basically it's a short clip from a live tape of Martha Reeves at Wigan casino, now I saw her there and it was January 1978 but there is no way that this is that date - I can tell by the sounds played after she finishes and I think this is at least a year later (includes Don Ray, Patrick Bradley, Construction). Great atmosphere though, hope you enjoy it.
  17. I've got no sound - can someone else check please?
  18. OK, it's just below and is working
  19. Suppose I'd better close this before it starts kicking off. See you lot in 6 months when you're all begging for a copy
  20. Another strange statement Marc. An awful lot of people, including myself, aren't aware of anything that's on ebay until the last day - I only ever look under 'ending today'. So it could have been there for a month really, I still wouldn't have known about it. Secondly, did you see the header of the sales listing? Listing it as Jingle Jangle, I nearly didn't bother clicking on it and only did because I'd got nothing else to do. So a great deal less people probably heard it than you think. Anyway I don't give a monkeys really, I love it, the buyer loves it, most other people love it, I've got my own copy and I've got the money for it so it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. To quote John Manship: they all dislike it except it'd be different if they owned it - then it would be the greatest record ever
  21. https://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/mayfairmenthol_W0QQ_dmdZ1QQ_ipgZ50QQ_sopZ12?_rdc=1 loads still at ridiculously low prices!
  22. If you read what I said, I actually said 2500 was the most I ever got for a record, I didn't say it was for this record. Not everyone is on Ebay, so thats another of your points answered. And thirdly, the most important thing, and it's the point you've totally overlooked - it's one of the most perfect Northern Soul records you'll ever hear, including the vocal. p.s. no need to put "big name dj" in brackets as if you think I'm lying. You wait to see who plays it out.
  23. I sell hardly anything on here, never have - they all go out to my mailing list first then on here the following day. Neh-neh.
