  1. Well it might have helped if they'd actually released the original in this country!
  2. Where can I get this from Davie? I hear it's the best thing since the acid jazz sounding version of Wigfield's "Saturday Night", monster floorfiller...
  3. No I'm not that arsed, but when someone posts up that they've heard a fantastic record, I don't expect it to be a version of Duffy's Mercy so I'm giving my opinion on it Steve. What's the point of having this f*cking forum if you can't give your opinion without someone making arsey comments all the time?
  4. I find it a bit sad that people are arguing the merits of two versions of a recent chart record. "Hey whats your favourite version of Mercy, the crap girl one or the even crapper indie one"
  5. Don't understand Paul, please explain.
  6. I've got a present for you lot
  7. That's no recommendation
  8. Well it was just ITK and SH.COM, you'd be surprised how many people from here were on there. Oh and I used to go on the Wolves forums but not any more.
  9. Any more views on this track?
  10. Hey it's not my fault you can't make a profit Phil, I was talking from a buyers point of view not a sellers. I realise that as a seller I'll have to work a way around the problem as will you. But as a buyer I'm absolutely sick and tired of being ripped off on postage and I've lost count of the amount of "1 stars" I've left.
  11. Me too, I wonder if our paths crossed before!
  12. How is this version any better than Duffy's? It's terrible. Sounds like they're trying to sound like Blood Sweat & Tears.
  13. Never mind, was trying to post a picture
  14. Well the latest news, someone did come up with the dosh but as a way to make a profit, so if all goes to plan, I'll get them and start selling them in a couple of weeks time, get the guy his investment back, make him some profit and keep the records I want!
  15. I'm thinking this could maybe a good thing because I tend to buy 3 times more than I sell nowadays and I'd enjoy the benefits of free postage. However, what if the sellers scrimp and send by the cheapest method i.e. 2nd class not recorded?
  16. Doesn't make any sense does it? Good record, but that is way way overpriced.
  17. No it's not, it's the absolute crux of the comment I made, I said I didn't care for his writing and his opinions do not influence me and that's when you got on your soapbox and express(ed) utter amazement that I didn't go along with your thoughts on the same subject. Like everyone else, I religiously read Dave's writing in both Blues & Soul and Black Music and really enjoyed them. I read them now and I don't enjoy them. Bottom line, end of.
  18. I should go back and read it all again if I were you, I said I would close the thread if people didn't stop making personal attacks and snide remarks aimed at me, not because people disagreed with me. If I make a forceful statement about something it's because I have to stand up against the bullies and self-righteous brothers who constantly tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.
  19. https://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/mayfairmenthol_W0QQ_dmdZ1QQ_ipgZ50QQ_sopZ12?_rdc=1 loads of northern originals ending in a couple of hours - most still cheap!
  20. I'd want 2 for that price
  21. Oh right, I get you now
  22. I don't take any notice of what these records are 'listed for', I'd pay 50 for it, it's not worth 75. Price guides are a joke in the main. I pick up British records sometimes at a tenth of what they're listed for, and I mean out in the open on ebay. Having said that, I'd sell the Donnie Elbert for 15 quid.
