I've got some nice stuff on Ebay at the moment, ending in a couple of days, if you want to take a look and see if you can grab a bargain, here's the link. https://shop.ebay.co.uk/mayfairmenthol/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Yes. Ian's videos are always reliable for giving me my regular dose of busty black ladies.
-
Don't understand - do you mean the video of Prince Phillip Mitchell dancing is reminiscent of the Village People? What about the singing - he's still got it and it's not a bad re-recording of a classic.
-
It's by The 45 King I think, and it's bloody fantastic - for about 30 seconds, then you realise it's not going to change pitch or anything else and it repeats itself for the whole of the record.

Dave I'll sell mine and give you half the profit
-
Yes it is, he was the lead singer. Fantastic track "You're everything"
-
I always thought it was a fantastic track...as good as OLWG
-
The were two that were quite elusive, one was Eddie Holman and the other was actually The Showmen again, Take It Baby.

Has There Ever Been A Worse Cover Of A Soul Record
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
No, in fact I don't think I even heard it til about 2 weeks ago; I found a blog with about 50 girl group compilations to download so I downloaded the lot and am now wading through around 2000 female artist tracks! -

Why Do Many Uk Late 60's Issues Always Have Their Centre's Missing?
Pete S replied to timthemod's topic in Look At Your Box
Yes all of the labels which came to be part of Polygram pressed the majority of records with large centres from 1969 onwards; Philips, Fontana, Polydor, Atlantic, Mojo, Stax and so on. Why? Maybe it cost less? -

Whoa! Nothing wrong with Alma Cogan. You should hear her answer record to Fortune Teller, it's brilliant, I'll find it out. -

Has There Ever Been A Worse Cover Of A Soul Record
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
Mrs Miller. Great record. I have a UK Capitol original for sale with a great version of Downtown on side 2 -
Our Love Will Grow is actually very tough on red and yellow Action, it's at least £50. Competition - £25 Dee Dee Sharp - £35 - £40
-
Than Duffy attempting to sing "Stay With Me Baby"? I mean, it is like me attempting to sing like Pavarotti.

Don't know much about her, she had a single on CBS called Just Say Goodbye (the Walker Bros song not the Esther Phillips one). Would have thought she was a UK artist.

What's The Most You'd Pay For That Long Time Elusive Want?
Pete S replied to Ian Dewhirst's topic in Look At Your Box
Bit weird this topic. Someone says the can source certain records if people pay the price, bloke actually does source the records, makes a little bit for himself, seller, go between and buyer are all happy. What's wrong with that? -
I'll email it to you if you like mate. Written by Paul Anka.

Because I used to collect reggae labels, I bought anything on PYRAMID and there was a record by Stavely Makepiece (aka Lt. Pigeon!) called Greasy haired Woman which for some reason came out on Pyramid, it couldn't have been more than 30 seconds long
