a real valuation or something from Jackanory? £300 I'd say. More for an issue.

Dave I was just wondering if that was a member of Chicory Tip sitting next to you on your avatar photo. -
That's f*cking hideous.

For Sale: Joe Kennedy - Slick Trick - German Atlantic With P/s
Pete S replied to Benji's topic in Record Sales
I think thats a real good price, I sold one last year for the same price without a pic sleeve. -
You have to put this into context though; is it rarer than darrell banks, Timi Yuro, soul joe clements, jimmy thomas - yes, it is - it has to be, apart from Billy Harner instrumental, one of if not the rarest UK items - must be a grand.
-
Paul, totally off topic but it's just reminded me, I was watching some BBC news program over the weekend and the girl reporters surname was Thomas-Peter, I thought she may be a long lost relative of yours maybe because thats not too common a name!
-
and mine
-
They've all go it, just on the run in, I seemed to buy a copy of this at Wigan every month, it was a standard £8 in those days, loved it back then.
-
You'll be able to get a mint obe for a fiver, trust me, it sold over 50,000 copies in the UK.
-
This is on the B side of Return Of Django so you shouldn't have to pay over 5 quid for it! Upsetter 301 (UK). The matrix number you've quoted looks like a UK issue but I can't find a trace of it.
-
It's 100% definitely a boot. You have to watch this though because they also did a very very good counterfeit quite a while after this pressing, on the proper Diamond design and most had drill holes put in as well.
-
Quote from Maggie Bell biography: 12 January 1945, Glasgow, Scotland. Bell's career began in the mid-60s as the featured singer in several resident dancehall bands. She made her recording debut in 1966, completing two singles with Bobby Kerr under the name Frankie And Johnny. (Bobby kerr = johnny curtis)
-
I don't get this Tony, I've told everyone who they are, Tony Rounce has, other people have - it is Maggie bell and Johnny Curtis - I've seen it in print on the Johnny Curtis Major Minor press release and in a book on Scottish rock I read years ago.
-
Also decca did not release records originating from the USA, they had London and RCA to do that, whereas Hickory records came out on, er Hickory in the UK at the time that Frankie & Johnny was released.
-
Shamefully twas I who did that pressing but I can't remember what the source was, I think it was from a cd someone had sent me, it wasn't from a radio show as far as I know, Mark Loyd was on the other side, I think there were 150 copies and they were only going to be sold to members of KTF, anyway the day I got them Rob Thomas said I'd better not distribute them or else so I sold 20 or 30 to people off my list and gave the entire stock to JM to do what he liked with them. So it's actually a very rare bootleg. And one that I lost money on, ironic eh!

What an absolute load of tosh, is it April Fools Day or something

Discussed elsewhere. 10 months ago. Also there was a topic on this last week I think, most questions asked about why only one Chess brother was featured.

Sensational Maytals Lp. Wirl Or Doctor Bird?
Pete S replied to Sebastian's topic in Look At Your Box
It would have been a Jamaican pressing in a UK sleeve I think. I had a Blues Busters LP on Doctor Bird which was like that, also Club Ska volume 2 was on Wirl but in a UK Island sleeve. -
I'd say anyone paying more than 25 quid for Linda Jones on UK Warner Bros needs their head testing.
