PETE SMITH 14 MARKET LANE LOWER PENN WOLVERHAMPTON WV4 4UJ 01902 340255 Pete.smith@freeuk.com SOMETHING A BIT DIFFERENT HERE FOLKS, THESE RECORDS ARE ALL WOUNDED IN SOME WAY – CRACKED, WARPED, HISSING – BUT THEY ALL PLAY! THEY ARE ALSO ALL VERY RARE ITEMS. I’VE DESCRIBED TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY AND WITH COMPLETE HONESTY BUT IF YOU WANT TO HEAR OR SEE ANYTHING JUST LET ME KNOW PLEASE. 1 TERRIBLE TOM – WE WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER – MAVERICK DEMO. ORIGINAL COLOURED LABEL. SAME TRACK ON BOTH SIDES. ONE SIDE PLAYS STRONGLY WITH SLIGHT BACKGROUND HISS, OTHEWRISE IT LOOKS NEAR MINT. THE OTHER SIDE HISSES ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND IS USELESS. 25.00 2 JUDY STREET – WHAT – STRIDER sold THIS IS THE LEGENDARY COPY THAT WAS BROKEN ON THE WOLVERHAMPTON TO WIGAN COACH WHEN SOMEONE SAT ON IT IT’S CRACKED FROM LABEL TO EDGE AND PLAYS, BUT WITH A CLICK ALL THE WAY THROUGH. NICE TO HAVE AS A STATUS SYMBOL BUT PROBABLY MORE USE STUCK ON A WALL. 20.00 3 SHAWN ROBINSON – MY DEAR HEART – MINIT DEMO sold THIS HAS A VERY HARD TO FIND CRACK RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THE RECORD. IT DOES CLICK AT THE START FOR 3 OR 4 ROTATIONS BUT I DON’T THINK THAT’S FROM THE CRACK. GENERAL SHAPE IS VG TO VG+. YOU COULD DJ WITH THIS NO PROBLEM. 50.00 4 PATTY & THE EMBLEMS – I’M GONNA LOVE YOU A LONG LONG TIME – KAPP DEMO sold TRAGICALLY THIS ALSO HAS A LITTLE CRACK ON THE EDGE, CLICKS A COUPLE OF TIMES AT THE START. OTHERWISE AT LEAST VG++ 50.00 5 SANDRA PHILLIPS – WORLD WITHOUT SUNSHINE – BROADWAY sold ORIGINAL STYRENE WHITE DEMO. HISSES FOR THE FIRST 12 SECONDS THEN PLAYS GOOD AS NEW 30.00 6 THE NATURAL FOUR – I THOUGHT YOU WERE MINE – ABC DEMO sold NOW THIS HAS VERY SLIGHT STYRENE NOISE IN THE RIGHT CHANNEL ON THE INTRO, I’VE PLAYED THIS TO PEOPLE AND THEY SAY THEY CAN’T HEAR ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT, I MUST HAVE ULTRA SENSITIVE HEARING MAYBE. I’D SAY EX BUT WITH SOME NOISE ON THE INTRO. 100.00 7 JACKIE LEE – DARKEST DAYS – ABC A STOCK COPY WITH BACKGROUND NOISE THROUGHOUT – NOT OVERPOWERING BUT ANNOYING. IT’S ALSO GOT A CRACK BEGINNING WHICH HASN’T ACTUALLY TURNED INTO A REAL CRACK YET. 20.00 EARL JACKSON – SOUL SELF SATISFACTION – ABC DEMO sold HONESTLY I COULD WEEP OVER THIS, OSTENSIBLY EXCELLENT BUT WHEN YOU PLAY IT YOU CAN HEAR LIGHT STYRENE NOISE IN THE RIGHT HAND CHANNEL, THIS DECREASES AS THE RECORD PROGRESSES BUT IT CAN’T BE AVOIDED. THE LEFT HAND CHANNEL PLAYS PERFECTLY. 100.00 THE HESITATIONS – I’M NOT BUILT THAT WAY / SOUL SUPERMAN – KAPP DEMO sold LOOKS ALMOST MINT BUT HAS A MICROSCOPIC CRACK ON THE EDGE, MAKES ONE TICK THEN PLAYS PRACTICALLY MINT BOTH SIDES. 30.00 DARRELL BANKS – SOMEBODY (SOMEWHERE) NEEDS YOU – REVILOT WHITE DEMO AGAIN LOOKS A STUNNER BUT IS CRACKED FROM EDGE TO LABEL, IT’S A CLEAN CRACK BUT YOU CAN HEAR A DULL CLICK MOST OF THE TIME 15.00 ADAMS APPLES – DON’T TAKE IT OUT ON THIS WORLD – BRUNSWICK ISSUE sold GUTTED. THIS HAD A BIT OF AN EDGE WARP SO I TRIED TO FLATTEN IT, EXCEPT I MADE IT WORSE. SO THE FIRST 15 SECONDS OR SO WILL ONLY PLAY WITH A WEIGHT ON THE TONE ARM – ON MY DECK ANYWAY. AFTER THAT, IT’S FINE, VG+ VISUALLY 30.00 THE HIGH KEYS – LIVING A LIE – VERVE DEMO sold THERE’S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VINYL ON THIS ONE, IT’S EXCELLENT, BUT THE LABEL HAS WATER DAMAGE AND I WOULD SAY IT’S BEEN STUCK TO ANOTHER RECORD RESULTING IN BIG LABEL DAMAGE, YOU MAY NEED A PHOTO OF THIS, DAMAGE IS MAINLY TO THE BOTTOM PLAIN PART OF THE LABEL. 125.00 THANKS FOR READING – HOPE YOU FIND SOMETHING OF INTEREST I TAKE CREDIT CARDS, PAYPAL (THERE’S A CHARGE FOR THIS OVER £50 SORRY), CHEQUE, CASH, AND BANK TRANSFER. POSTAGE: ANYTHING UP TO 3 RECORDS 1.80 RECORDED DELIVERY. AFTER THAT, 20p EXTRA. SPECIAL DELIVERY IS 5.50 AND IS RECOMMENDED FOR ANYTHING OVER 50.00 – YOU ARE ONLY INSURED FOR 38.00 WITH RECORDED SO IT’S ESSENTIAL THAT YOU TAKE THE SPECIAL DELIVERY OPTION IF YOU BUY AN EXPENSIVE RECORD. OVERSEAS, SAME PRICE FOR STANDARD POSTAGE AND 6.00 FOR SPECIAL DELIVERY.

Glad to be of help Russ but I have to call it as I hear it and it was just a monotonous mess recorded in a church full of retards by the sound of it. AS A NORTHERN SOUL RECORD I MEAN. If it fits into other genres then maybe it's the bets of the bunch. Sorry Ian, no offence.
-
I don't know it but it's f*cking hideous
-
I assume it was but I don't remember ever hearing it, it's not in JM's book or on his website...it's a Mecca type instrumental I'd say from 75 or thereabouts. Any info anyone?
-
You're in double trou ble mate, you reckon instrumentals can't be soulful too
-
Done and updated too!
-
I can assure you that I'm not on my own as far as George Hobson goes! Plus of course you also overlook the fact that I sell a couple of thousand great records every year and only ever comment about one of them. Disappointing.

Backing singers on Love Slipped Thru My Fingers are truly terrible
-
Mike it's 2009 at the moment
-
Apart from the last one when we got done out of 2 points from a late offside Wolves goal
-
It's on one of my podcasts mate https://planetrecords.podbean.com/2009/07/05/more-rare-soul-from-the-vaults/ make more sense if you hear what it should have sounded like, it seems that the only reason "The Camp" came out is because they had an A side for a single, which I think was from a film or tv show, and they needed something - anything - to put on the B side.
-
It's good, have a listen!
-
No, I just don't care.
-
It's not just you - it's anyone who upsets the status quo. Northern Soul used to be such a happy place to be, it's so f-cking serious nowadays.
-
It's easier to relate to football though. I would literally lie awake at night and worry about the Wolves, but I wouldn't lie awake at night worrying about Becks doing a carver off a cd.
-
Come on Nev, get a life, who gives a toss?
-
Because try as I might, I can't see it from here
-
The problem with this site, and it's always been like this, is that there are too many self appointed moral guardians who seem to think that everyone has to behave in a certain way or it's somehow against the laws of what being into soul music is about. I once compiled a dvd of mega rare clips, none of which were available commercially, oh no we can't have that, you're bootlegging the artists and depriving them of royalties cried the self-righteous brothers. No I wasn't, and everyone was deprived of the chance of seeing some fantastic footage, much of which is still not in circulation as I was made to remove my dvd. So I can watch it, but you can't, because seven or eight people couldn't stand the thought of me making a bit of money from material that in many cases, I sourced and paid good money for myself. By the way, in Soul Source world you are also not allowed to like or enjoy records by white people as these are not real soul records. Beeks, you have to just stand up to these people and tell them where to go mate.
-
You're right, definitely "Thats the story of my life", don't know if it was a UK only single but I;ve got it on British Stax. Was also on that Stax Northern Soul album compiled by ian D.
-
Well he's not really is he, he's copying one track, which they aren't releasing as a single, if he really was to put things right he could simply pay to download it off itunes for £1.50 every time he wanted to cut a disc of it, he'd have paid for it legitimitely then.
-
here we go, it's about a quarter way down the page here, also the first post of footsee as well /forums/topic/23469-footsie/page__p__230504__hl__tainted%20love__fromsearch__1entry230504 also listen to the Pointer Sister clip on the same page, only 10 seconds but you can hear an audible gasp from people when it begins, made every hair on my body stand on end just
-
If it's still up here, try and find the Tainted Love clip from this tape, I'm sure I posted it, it's incredible. I'll see if I can find it.
-
If I list it at 40 quid then it stays at 40 quid Ray. Unfortunately, I did sell that copy a while back. I've got her other decca single though, if you like sh*t versions of I hear You Knocking you'll love it
