  1. IT's strange, I had one on my list on here 2 weeks ago, was reserved twice, ended up putting it on ebay where it stayed for 7 days and was finally bought buy it now for 50 quid with an hour to go.
  2. Gene Woodbury wasn't disovered for a good 3 to 4 years after Bernie Williams, Williams first Wigan play 1974, Woodbury 1978.
  3. It was never booted, it did come out on the first Grapevine Lp but thats it. I remember the first ever play of this at Wigan, covered up as William Lucas. It's good but it's no Bernie Williams.
  4. I've got a boot of it here, reads the same as yours except the 5011 number is at 9 o clock and the ztsb at 3 o clock. 340 is at 6 o clock. This is quite thick vinyl with a slope down to the centre of about 1cm.
  5. Awful news, RIP Alan, God Bless to the family
  6. Yes it is, she must have been the lead singer of The Dolls
  7. I think there's been a couple, they are like test pressings I think? I remember when you had this gene, I bet it was £30 then! I think I paid about £220 for the one off ebay a month ago.
  8. Thats a good enough reason as anything mate, I just can't quite get anything from the track myself but then again, not everyone likes Chapter Five
  9. No, I think thats his name on ebay but Chorleysoul is Richard Chorley, plus i thought you were referring to me anyway
  10. Didn't think I'd sell it at £400 - was certain I;d sell it at £325
  11. Sold it last week for £325
  12. What about quoting the wrong person? You say "Pete" to a post made by Richard.
  13. Oh My Darling is a far better record than One Gold Piece.
  14. Can't see why you're raving about this, always thought it was just a filler track compared to most of the Shrines!
  15. Looks like a 10" version, it's a one off!
  16. Mark this is obviously common knowledge to everyone except me but I had absolutely no idea your dad was Alf Bicknell, this is a name I've seen countless times in the hundreds of books I've read about The beatles, boy would I like to have met him over a pint for a chinwag. Much respect.
  17. I suppose again it's just a matter of taste but I think the point Bri made, was that if these records were not so rare, their popularity and desirability would not be at such a premium and I remain in agreement with that. Actually THE BLOSSOMS is my favourite but then I have a strange addiction to Girly records so that's no surprise! As for JACKIE LEE, again, I think the common availability of records like that mask their brilliance and in a scene that has elevated rarity to such a level, it's no surprise. Ok, lets try this, Pete does not rate JACKIE LEE in such company, what about something like DARRELL BANKS 'Open the door'? Hypothetically that is discovered tomorrow, only 5 copies exist. It's played at Lifeline, 100 Club and a few other venues and becomes a top spin, within 2 years what's the price label on a record like that? At the end of the day, I think you have to take it on the grounds of comparison with other labels output. You have mentioned a handful of records and in my opinion, Shrine does posess a relative 'handful' of good records compared to the other labels mentioned. I repeat, compared to lables like Motown, Brunswick and Okeh etc, it trails way down the line. (Except on the grounds of rarity!).
  18. Well at least I saved it for you Steve. Happy Xmas!
  19. Nah. But talking of...where is he lately?
  20. Very sorry, I know it's rude but I can't remember who it was keeps pestering me to sell my Manchester Playboys on Fontana - give me a shout cos you can have it now
  21. Fraid not, apparently it's worth £500 now, just went up £300 overnight!
  22. Sorry Marc but it's been cheap - relatively cheap - until about 18 months ago. In the late 90's early 00's I was buying it in at 40 to 60 quid and selling it for 75 to 85
  23. When has it sold for that amount and have the sellers and buyers been locked up in a mental home? F*cking ridiculous.
  24. See this is the problem - one copy sells for a daft amount then everyone else follows suit - a good example is Helen Shapiro "Stop", it's worth £125/£150 yet because JM got over £200 for it, everyone else now lists it at £200. Exus Trek, the version I had on my list yesterday books at £500, I listed it for half that and didn't sell it...
  25. Never in a million years is this worth £200. Should be £100 - £125. I've sold half a dozen at that price in the last 5 years. It's not a rare record.
