Someone listed that on Soul Source about 3 months ago - trades only I think it was.
-
That seller is an idiot and is also dishonest, I know for a fact at least two people have written to him giving him the full details and price of this album but he's still left it as it is. I hope someone buys it then stiffs him.
-
Not sure but I've had loads of UK London records from the States, mainly doo-wop/rock & roll, I always wandered how they got there - two copies of The Paradons "Diamonds and pearls" UK Top Rank also. Never anything like the Darrell Banks demo though..what a find.
-
You ought to land in smallframes garden and ask him where the f*ck are my records!
-
Came out twice on Stateside but was a big seller - £5 to £15, maybe £20 for a mint 1st issue, I sold my red and white demo for £225 earlier this year, green and white should be half that.
-
I think you might have if you think that was a 70's recording! Unless it was an answer record to the Honey Cone 'Want Ads' song...but it sounds pure 1966 to me.

The Internet, Social Networking Sites And The Northern Soul Scene
Pete S replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
I honestly do think that it is, especially as a medium for hearing new sounds and just simply having everything in one place. -
They share the same backing track.

The Internet, Social Networking Sites And The Northern Soul Scene
Pete S replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
Without the internet the Northern scene would be smaller now than it was post-Wigan. It's undoubtedly the best thing ever to happen to NS. Not so much now, but it was the catalyst for the big revival of 1998 to 2002 which bought back thousands of 'lost' soulies. The ones who stayed on have made the scene vibrant again. So basically the early pioneers of this like Mick Fitz, Martin Thomson, Greg Tormo, Mike Hughes, (ME) people like that - we are the saviours of Northern Soul -
I did I'm afraid Paul, or rather I reserved it for someone. cheers pete

No it's not years, I sold one about 18 months back for £125 but of course then it went on auction for some daft price

A couple of years ago I uploaded more or less every single rare soul clip I had to youtube (including that New Yorkers clip) and to be honest, Soul Source had access to the best collection of soul videos in the world without doubt, then one day the nice people representing Motown got them all removed and got me banned from youtube (for posting 10 minutes of Motown 40 - so why did they remove the other 150 clips) anyway after that I thought sod it, let somebody else do it, and thats why I've not posted anything since and why there haven't been that many new or interesting clips posted.

Probably take you a while to find one in that condition, I did have a mint one but I certainly paid a premium for it - £80. Got 3 jamaican blanks of it now but no UK one sorry.
-
Yes thats what it is on the other side of - thanks for that.
-
You never heard any of my beat-ballad podcasts? Seriously...probably my favourite type of thing to listen to.
-
Anything thats not on that off white label, I presume is an original.
-
Am going to post a track below, I have it as a blank and would love to know what it is, though I have a feeling that I used to have it so it may have come out on UK Island. I'm pretty certain it has to be the Skatalites.

It was two slowies wasn't it? So value to me - $0!

Kenny Gamble was bootlegged before it was "reissued" n.b. I am talking about 'the jokes on you'

Don't think it's worth anything Matt, I think I gave a copy away last year - thats unless theres a 3rd Abner 45 and I've got the wrong one.

That description was so vivid I could actually remember it like it was yesterday, funny how you totally forget things then it just comes flooding back to you.
