Think there's gonna be one or two of us doing 'taxman' sales Ezzie, only just starting my return but not sure how I'm going to pay it, and that's with me having been selling at full pelt for a couple of weeks now. Now if only someone would start a fund to help me pay my tax bill

Very interesting Dave, but I have to disagree with you on one thing, I don't think it's rare on Soul City, I've had half a dozen copies and until 5 years back, used to sell them for 25-30 quid a go. It's just oen of those thats been hyped up.

No, it's true, I am 150 years old!

Early 1975, "Sammies", not the Sheffield one but St Giles Youth Club in Willenhall, Wolverhampton. It was so popular they even had their own sew on patches made and it was fantastic, dj's included Max, Pep, Swoz, Rob haigh, some locals and guests like Sam. The noly records I can actually remember hearing there the first time were "Doomsday" which would enable someone to date it almost down to the month, Cool Off, I'm Spellbound, Candy (The Astors), The jades, Outsiders (off the LP), instrumental to Don't Pretend...everyone, I mean everyone went to Sammies. p.s. just thinking, we used to get the last bus from Wombourne into Wolverhampton then walk the 4 miles to Willenhall. I was 15 at the time. I wouldn't do that walk now if you paid me!

Probably not Black Power, I have a tape of the first ever play of that and it's March 11th 1978.

And it was written by Jimmy webb who also wrote "I need you" (Shane Martin)

Blimey it's slow today. BUMP!

Have an EX Lee Andrews £25 inc post if any use

Ron Grainer is a cover version - the original is by Barry Gray from the TV show. I love it, but only because my little boy likes to watch Joe 90 on dvd. As a northern record it's a disgrace and was literally started as a joke by dave McCadden.

I nearly bought the ray Charles "Don't need no doctor" at the record fair last month, it looked spot on. They are from a set of about 25 counterfeits which seem to be mainly late 50's rhythm & blues, I think Charles Sheffield is among them as well.

Sitting In The Park Ray And Dave Interview / Chilites Tribute Show
Pete S replied to boba's topic in All About the SOUL
There you go, the magic of the internet for everyone to see. Three weeks ago Ray emailed me simply to say thanks for putting his record on a podcast, he had no idea the record was known...three weeks later, he's being interviewed on the radio! Really pleased for Ray, and nice one Bob. -
Shirley Lawson - One More Chance - booted on backbeat demo, extremely accurate counterfeit, done by whoever has done these r&b boots in the last 2 months. be careful if buying an original.
-
Well he's not much of a record dealer, which he says he is, if he doesn't know a 70's Pye label and the fact it made the top 10 in 1975. He's a muppet.
-
No I'm saying I put cd tracks on vinyl because I prefer to have vinyl.
-
It's a Hundred Pounds Of Pain and I can sell you one for ten quid.

Does the link take you to the podcast page Drew? If so, you should see the title, the track list, under the track list should be the 'player' which you just have to click. If you can't see these things, it's because your web browser is not compatable with the site, and you need to switch to something like mozilla firefox. If you are using firefox, then f*ck knows!!
