Why would anyone consider that an auction record? £50 job.
-
Not it's alright John, nice and loud, never noticed anything untoward myself
-
Last 20 seconds it sounds like they're playing part of the main riff of Sax On The Tracks, the rest of it sounds about as much like Bari Track as Abba
-
No it sounds more like Sax On The Tracks
-
Never understood the fuss about this album, he's not a great singer and there isn't a standout track on there...
-
Fortunately I type really fast Steve so it only took 20 minutes. At least I didn't have to listen to any of them
-
Yes, from 1976
-
Makes no difference - cream label, red lettering, original
-
Kapp LP track - bootlegged on a 45 but was never officially released as a single

I love this design

It's really expensive now on Rio, I bought one last year for £100 and sold it for £150 a month later. Easily available on a nice looking Coxsone repress for £8 though. Also on the superb early Trojan album You Left Me Standing.

Any Uk Beat Experts Here? Dave Lee & The Staggerlees
Pete S replied to Benji's topic in Look At Your Box
Yeah about £15. Group best known for the track Adam Adamant (TV show) -
I thought I;d better play that and Brand NewFaces seeing as we'd been talking about them all week!
-
Probably is rare but not a lot of demand for it

Thanks Steve thats actually a false ending because there was Margie Joseph One More Chance and Barbara Lewis The Stars after those but they had interference on them so I had to bin them...but it turned out ok

More Soulful Reggae & Rocksteady (Podcast - Soul Covers)
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
It's a good one Eddie except for that Tyrone Taylor which is terrible, except once I'd started it I had to carry on with it...rest is good -
More Soulful Reggae & Rocksteady (Podcast - Soul Covers)
Pete S posted a topic in All About the SOUL
Another in the occasional series of Jamaican covers of well known Soul and R & B tunes. Lots on here I’ve not used before. I have to say though, while doing this, to my great surprise the track I enjoyed the most was one I bought as 13 year old schoolboy, and at the time it was on a par with Wet Dream as being the most notorious record to own — Prince Buster’s adaption of Rainy Night In Georgia, the legendary Big Five. Never quite understand why it was called Big Five though…anyway I hadn’t listened to it for years and it bought back a lot of memories, including that of my brother breaking my copy in half because I kicked him. Those were the days… ALTON ELLIS & DAVID ISAACS — LA LA MEANS I LOVE YOU BIG YOUTH — HIT THE ROAD JACK BYRON LEE & THE DRAGONAIRES — SOUL SERENADE DAVE McLAREN — LOVE IS WHAT I BRING DAWN PENN — LONG DAYS SHORT NIGHTS DERRICK MORGAN — IT’S ALRIGHT DUDLEY SIBLEY — MONKEY SPEAKS HIS MIND DENZIL DENNIS — NEVER FOUND A GIRL DAVE BARKER — FOLLOW YOUR HEART ALTON ELLIS — TOO LATE TO TURN BACK NOW BOBBY AITKEN — SWEETS FOR MY SWEET THE GAYLADS — MESSAGE TO MY GIRL THE HEPTONES — SWEPT FOR YOU BABY JOE WHITE — I’M SO PROUD JOHN HOLT — STEALING KEN BOOTHE — YOU LEFT THE WATER RUNNING THE UNIQUES — GYPSY WOMAN WINSTON GROOVEY — YOU SEND ME TYRONE TAYLOR — JUST OUT OF REACH THE TECHNIQUES — YOU DON’T CARE THE HEPTONES — ONLY SIXTEEN DERRICK MORGAN — SEVEN LETTERS ERNEST WILSON — FREEDOM TRAIN SOUL TOPS — GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT THE SHADES — GO FIND YOURSELF A FOOL RITA MARLEY — CHOOSY BEGGAR PRINCE BUSTER — BIG FIVE PHYLLIS DILLON — ONE LIFE TO LIVE TYRONE EVANS — IF THIS WORLD WERE MINE https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/more-soulful-reggae-rocksteady/
