  1. Can't understand anyone who's been into any sort of youth cult slagging off Quadrophenia. Shit tunes like Louie Louie, Night Train, The Ronettes??? Best British film ever made.
  2. 100% definitely not one of mine, I've never heard that recording before, honestly - it was taking me a while to identify some of the tracks as well. (The only way it can have been one of mine is if someone sent it me and I passed it on without ever listening to it, which is unlikely) Anyone else want to take a shot at who the DJ is? * n.b. the one below it, from the last night at Wigan, IS one of mine
  3. Isn't it Pal & the Prophets - Peace Pipe on Jamie slowed down - I had one of these 18 months ago, not only had I never heard of it before I'd never seen it either.
  4. I've got that as well LOL
  5. How could you know???
  6. You are correct of course. I have the VIP's - Straight Down To The Bottom WIP-6005 plainly stating 1967 on the label.
  7. It's not a 1970 press, it's a label change of the 1968 pressing right at the end of it's time on catalogue, if it was 'pressed' in 1970, when it was getting played, why aren't there thousands of copies about? The authority on British labels from Stotfold will confirm this.
  8. Meanwhile on ebay, look at the price of this, I would sell you 3 copies maybe 4 even for this price https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Northern-Soul-Gene-Chandler-Mr-Big-Shot-Constellation_W0QQitemZ380196869608QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Records?hash=item58857fd5e8

  10. Wow talk about deja-vu, there was an entire topic devoted to this program/s when it aired last year and also a topic about Frankie & Johnny

    Embers

There is a boot on MGM but it's a rare one, it's actually a white label instead of yellow and, if I remember correctly, has The Jewels on the other side! I don't even know when it came out, certainly not at the time the Embers was bootlegged first on the Sidewalk label.
  12. Are you Glen Millers UK representitive or something Mossy, you keep bringing up subjects about this record every 3 months, we get it, you've got it on the Stag label, whoopee-doo
  13. IT might just be me but I don't seem to have the option to add bold or highlight to a listing any more, has it gone?
  14. The longest note I've ever heard on a Northern record is by the singer of Sisters Love near the end of I'm Learning To Trust My Man, it must last for over 20 seconds, couldn't believe it when I first heard it and still can't!
  15. I was listening to the "Wigan Casino 70's # 1" recording and I don't actually think that's at Wigan. The DJ sounds like Martyn Ellis and I thought he only ever did the anniversary nights and even then he didn't play current biggies, just oldies. I may be wrong!
  16. 600 quid for that is beyond belief! Half that maybe.
  17. Come on, Just Got Lucky by JoBoxers is one of the best pseudo-Northern tracks ever made, what a stomper.
  18. Got an email address if any use to you
  19. Thats an import though, he means the UK ones like Beverly Ann etc

Good price for a great double sider which plays spot-on LITTLE HENRY LEE - BETTER USE YOUR HEAD - GISMO DEMO EX 50 Probably the rarest version, I don't like it myself but I had half a dozen calls on it last time I had it so thought I may as well pick it up again MARLINA MARS - JUST ANOTHER DANCE - OKEH DEMO VG+ 50 Strange one, books at 150 for a demo and 200 for an issue, nice enough but 200? This one looks a little worn but plays fine PRINCE PHILLIP - WHATCHA GONNA DO NOW / ANOTHER FOOL LIKE ME - LOLLIPOP M- 100 Had a lesser copy of this the other week, this one's the best I've ever seen, half book price.
