What's dodgy about it? Nothing...
-
No, I'm sure it'll be 60's - I had an Eddie Holman "I Surrender" on Lebanese ABC off the same guy a year or two back, looked just like this one.
-
Any record with a delta number 90*** or 100** is going to be from the mid 70;s...surefire way of dating your records

Wow... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Northern-Soul-Earl-Jackson-Soul-Self-Satisfaction-NM_W0QQitemZ270551744737QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Records?hash=item3efe2400e1

Not exactly, but it was definitely 1975. I bought it
-
That's the second one I mention above.

They used to be known as 'funky northern' tracks
-
Why would anyone consider playing this out, good as it is...you might as well play Baby Love or Reach Out
-
Yeah I'm for real, but just for you I'll say I like it and it's the best thing I've ever heard, is that ok for you? And the lyrics are like poetry. Dave Godin tipped Lou & Laura Poole on Jayboy, he didn't know everything.

Not in that nick though, think I'd go 300/400
-
Yeah thats the one mate. Remember John Manship being amazed that there was a coloured counterfeit? So was I!

Agreed - 500/600 fair price -
Just to point out, again, that there is also a very, very rare coloured label counterfeit of this.

Another seriously rare stock copy is John Drevars Expression on MGM, I've only seen one, and I sold it really cheap, God knows why. Bok To Bach issue also extremely rare. Here's two UK's that I've kept -

Mick Smith got his copy from Portobello market in London, he said there was this kid with a load of records stacked in a PRAM and he bought a couple of him for a few pennies including Billy Harner, got home and played it and it was the instrumental (thats the only way you can tell - play them - I've held both at the same time and theres no difference, you'd think the run off groove on the inst would be massive but it's not) -
You're right, Russ's book was not great, he seems to have forgotten some of the basic facts, not only about certain records, plus the way he lords it over Richard is embarassing. Dave Shaw's book is about the best concerning the casino.

I gues I don't even need to tell you that I rate Lynn Varnado about as highly as I rate Agadoo. Those lyrics are truly terrible.
-
Why, those records are Northern Soul records and are deemed so because of the beat, they're out and out Northern and always will be. Except Lynn Varnado. I don't know what that is.

Neither of yours is a boot and neither is the instrumental. They were all legitimately issued via Polydor/Polygram. -
Paul as mentioned above, I can't find the instrumentals, only one disc of them. There are 143 accapella vocals. Just count how many you've got and see if there's a difference. The Space Oddity thing; I don't know where I got that, I downloaded it, maybe it was a CD single, I honestly don't know. Sorry to sound so vague, I'll try and find out.
