  1. Would you be interested in doing anything with that Chubby Checker?
  2. 100 copies.
  3. The one I was on about didn't have any BSC logos or anything, it was hand written. Dave Gilman was the chap who had it.
  4. I mentioned it last week just as it was ending, someone else said they had the same pressing and it didn't make £20!
  5. I'm just off to the bathroom to do a BIlly Lee
  6. The police need to be told about this, it's a full blown scam to con people out of their hard earned money. If it was in England, I'd do it.
  7. I was going to buy it off Dave in Plymouth and maybe I told him it was a different version and he didn't sell it me...anyway, either way, there was one in Plymouth 6 years ago, apart from that, I don't know!

  12. One less copy in the world won't do any harm..
  13. Yes you are of course a technical whizz Paul but the point I was making was that the first ones to circulate were the ones I posted on here - no, maybe the right track thing was first. But none of your pitch changed version of Mickey Moonshine ever circulated as far as I know

  15. Well whoever told you that is wrong. You know that as soon s records were pressed, they were dropped from the playlist, so why would they still be playing a pressing in 1977?
  16. Fir f*cks sake, you're not usually this much hard work, there is NOT a proper reissue of John E Paul, it was pressed for the Northern scene as a custom pressing by decca in either late 76 or earlier 77, the reissues state Side A and Side B on them and if you heard it at Wigan in 74 then it must have been the only time it was ever played until 1976.
  17. 15-25 5 10-15 in that order
  18. Like I said, you are talking about Mickey Moonshine not John E Paul, first decca release of Mickey Moonshine is october 1974, then it was reissued in 1975 but I think with Baby Blue on both sides by mistake, then it was done as a reissue for the northern scene it late 75 with the correct sides. Here's a link to one of the best and funnisest soul source threads of all time
  19. Youngblood Smith average price is £125.
  20. LOLA SANDS - TO WHO IT MAY CONCERN - BISON Ultra rare L.A. dancer using the same backing track as Soul Shakers - I'm Getting Weaker. Currently on Anglos Auction minimum bid £500 ('only second copy they've had') This one is EX and I'm asking £350 for it. Writing on label (autograph by the looks of it), great copy PERCY WIGGINS - THAT'S LOVING YOU - ABET DEMO First issue, not the 70's reissue, and a demo too, still in company sleeve, mint minus - stunning £100 THE FABULOUS APOLLAS - SOME GOOD IN EVERY BAD - VALTONE A MINT copy, best I've ever seen, might even be unplayed £100 pm me or email pete.smith@freeuk.com if interested (or ring 01902 340255) all are free special delivery postage
  21. You're thinking of Mickey Moonshine.
  22. Regular readers will remember when I posted the first of these alternate versions (it wasn't 10 years ago Glen, the software hadn't been invented) and I posted three tracks up I think and said "you watch, in a few years these will be passed off as legit", I did them as a joke using "the amazing slow downer" software, within weeks there were tons going around, including a 'female' version of Right Track
  23. Easy enough, just find out that last time it was played at Wigan and it'll tell you the date it was pressed. In fact I have it being played as late as april 77 so it must have been then. It hadn't even been discovered in 1974..
  24. Well you just told us everything so I can't add to that. Must have been quite popular because I remember hearing them on radio 1 when I was a kid. Used to have the live LP too, came in a collection, never played it though!
