Robin Thicke V Marvin Gaye: Jack Ashford Has His Say
Pete S replied to Roburt's topic in All About the SOUL
That's really bizarre, half of us on here think it's the same record and the other half hear no similarities - most people on FB think it's the same record as well -

It is indeed my birthday, 55 today
-
This literally happened an hour and a half ago You know what, I was so bored, sat here doing nothing on my birthday, I thought I'd go have a drive over to Perton to the two charity shops and cheap freezer shop, anyway there was nothing there so I decided to get my car washed, except the car wash wasn't working (keep reading, there is a point to all this) then I remembered there was one of those hand car washes on the Bridgnorth Road at the garden centre, so off I went there. left the car to be cleaned, wondered around the few little shops they have there, there's one selling 'retro', so I went in and he had a handful of records, incredibly amongst Abba and the Beatles there was an Ethiopians on Doctor Bird, a Skatalites on Ska Beat and a Prince Buster on Blue beat. I said to the young lad serving, bloody hell mate, nice birthday present for me, and he says...wait for it...I've got a few more of those if you want to have a look...I ended up with about 50 reggae and ska singles, plus a red and white Island copy of Jackie Edwards I Feel So Bad LOL gave him £200 for the lot which I thought was far seeing as he only paid £20 for them...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Probably a fake Dave

He's done a fake Frank Wilson Australian release.

Even the speed is wrong at the start!

There's also this... https://www.discogs.com/artist/1526539-David-Langdon

Not surprised, I think they were all done off 45's. Walter & Admirations was terrible.

I have no idea who it is but when you join a group, you agree to abide by the rules, and there's no need for a response like that to a polite message. I did a mixed list on OVO Sales, half original, half pressings, I was asked if I could remove the pressings, so I did, no big deal..

I think Buddy Smith came out on a Goldmine Connoisseurs 45.
-
I buy loads of these for myself and I don't DJ. Just like playing records. So sue me.
-
That copy I sold for £125 came out of a record shop in Wolverhampton for £2.50 in 1979. I bought it!
-
No idea who they were mate sorry, but oh to see those records!
-
No it's just dead mate, I remember going up there shopping in the 70's and you couldn't move, now you're lucky if you see a fellow shopper!
-
It's a nicer alternative to having to go into Wolverhampton
-
Mick, did Telford actually exist then, I remember them building it, 1967 - 1969!
-
Pretty rare. Sold one for £125 back in December, hissed on the first few seconds though so really would be £150
