I've sold to and bought from Steve Davis, in the early days of ebay he used to sell a lot of Northern. Sold to Wayne Hemmingway on ebay, Tim Burgess of The Charlatans on ebay, several non-Northern scene but very famous DJ's, probably more but I don't think of them as being 'famous', just normal customers. I was more star-struck when I met Dave Hill from Slade in my village post office (until I found out he was a miserable grumpy old c*nt)

Once upon a time maybe, not now, knock 100 off all of those prices. I once had correspondence with the guy who either pressed or financed this record, can't remember if I posted the info up or not, but he said there were equal amounts pressed of L Allen and Larry Allen. Funny how the latter seems rarer.

PLAIN SAILING * * * * * https://podcastmachine.com/podcasts/4425/episodes/28921 This is another of those non-soul non-reggae compilations. People love these, honestly, they tell me so, but they get the least downloads. Still, it's what I set up the channel for, to broadcast anything, so here's some more of my favourites. Quite a lot of this stuff charted so we've got classic pop as the main theme. The TRACY THORN track is a beautiful acoustic near-hit circa 1983. DUNCAN BROWNE is a forgotten single from 72 which just about troubled the top 30 at the time. The intro of PETULA CLARK's brilliant I Know A Place is remarkably similar to Rufus Lumley's "I'm Standing"! THE ASSOCIATION are possibly the most underrated US 60's hitmakers, I've never heard a bad song by them. Three tracks from DAVID BOWIE, Quicksand from my all time favourite album Hunky Dory, the great John I'm Only Dancing 45 from 1972, and the at the time unissued ballad cut at Sigma Sound for the Young Americans LP but dropped in favour of Across The Universe - boo! * * * * * BOY KILL BOY, don't know who they are but they've done a note for note copy of the fantastic Joe Jackson song It's Different For Girls, it's excellent. THE JAGS, THE STRANGLERS, ELVIS COSTELLO, THE POLICE, WRECKLESS ERIC; reminders of that fantastic period from 78 to 81 when Punk and PowerPop ruled. Early singles from SLADE, MARC BOLAN, CHRIS FARLOWE and PINK FLOYD. And 38 years ago, if you'd have told me that when I was 50 I would be including a DAVID CASSIDY record on a compilation I'd made, I'd have said you were mad. * * * * * There's some classic 60's music from THE VELVET UNDERGROUND and THE BEACH BOYS, a rockabilly belter from the JOHNNY BURNETTE TRIO, an excellent early NIRVANA radio session track, good 80's singles from THE BEAT and JOBOXERS and that's about it I think. We end with a very underrated tune from THE TEARDROP EXPLODES. Believe it or not, Gap have started doing these straight leg Sta-press trousers of their own, bit expensive at £35 but fit nice and look good too. I really need a suit jacket or two!

If they are, it contradicts you posting it though Dave, if they already know, why bother telling them again? I'm not having a go, the opposite in fact, the more info the better I'm just asking if it should be done or not.

I refer you to this post here's someone trying to sell a record but (at the time of writing this) there are two comments from other members about it. You can look at this a couple of ways. Firstly, that's wrong to comment on someone's price and possibly scupper his sales. But secondly, it's letting people know that the same record is available regularly on ebay for less money and in better condition. So really it could be seen as being in the interests of the site in general. The seller os obviously going to be upset that people have commented negatively about his sales post, but other people may be glad that they may be able to get the record cheaper. I don't think there's any solution to this really. I know I've wanted to comment hundreds of times after seeing massively overpriced records for sale or records in VG being offered for the price of a mint one, but I can't remember the last time I actually did. Any thoughts? (Changes are possibly in place for a radical reworking of the entire sales section).

I've got some lovely colour footage of The Blues Busters, it's late, around 1983 recorded at an oldies festival in New York but they are tremendous, with their matching outfits they look like a throwback to the 60's. Can't remember what they sang unfortunately. Big Youth is on the same show, as is a very drunk Delroy Wilson who is so bad that they cut his set short after he appears to drop his trousers!

I might just take you up on that!
