FOUND IN THE BASEMENT ***** I always loved that title, it makes you think of finding a stash of great records which had just been dumped in some basement and laid undiscovered for 40 years. This compilation is meant to reflect that random box of goodies - some totally unknown tunes, some known but forgotten, and some just plain good 60's records. There's a bit of popcorn, some soul, lots of girls and a handful of rare UK only releases. ***** https://podcastmachine.com/podcasts/4425/episodes/31385 Bella & Me - Whatever Happened To The 7 Day Week / Helen Shapiro - Tell Me What He Said (Just A Brilliant Pop Record) / The Pixies Three - Something Beautiful (Previously Unreleased Version Of Margaret Mandolph)) / Wynder K Frog - I'm A Man (Supposedly Recorded Live At Bridget Bardot's Birthday Party In 1967!) / Millie Foster - Love Wheel (Storming R & B) / Oscar - Club Of Lights (Paul Nicholas Under An Early Alias For Reaction Records) / Julie & The Desires - Kiss And Tell / Eddie Holman - A Free Country / Golden Apples Of The Sun - The Monkey Time / Jan Bradley - Please Mr. Dj / Clay Fulton - One Hundred Years (Previously Unreleased Popcorn Dancer) / Yvonne Barrett - Send Her Away (Aussie Version Of Jackie Trent Pye Single) Peter & The Infinits - She's Laughing At You / Bluesology - Come Back Baby (Nice Early 45 For Fontana With Elton John On Vocals) / Dana Gillespie - Pay You Back With Interest (Knocks Spots Of The Hollies Original Version) / Henrietta & Group - I Love Him (Teen Girl Angst!) / Hilton James - I Made An Angel Cry (Just Discovered This Alternative Version Of The Bruce Scott Track) / Peggy March - Losing My Touch (Her Best) / Joanie Sommers - I'd Be So Good For You / Leonard Whiting - That's What Mamma Say (Very Creditable Version Of Walter Jackson Considering He Was Only A Kid When He Recorded It) / Denise Germaine - Little Lost Lover / Ginny Satin - Hey Lover (Some Northern Potential Here) / Gale Garnet - You've Been Talking About Me Baby / Little Anthony & The Imperials - It's Not The Same (Brilliant, As Always) / Garnet Mimms - A Quiet Place / Darlene Paul - All Cried Out / Otis Gayle - I'll Be Around (Not Really In Keeping With The Rest Of The Tracks But Thought You Might Like To Hear This Excellent Soulful Reggae Version Of The Spinners Classic)

The problem I've got is that I know of a record, which seemingly only two other people have got, and they've both got it covered up. The problem is, I can't find one, despite having the advantage of knowing what it is. Would you tell someone and see if they can find it, or just keep plugging away until you eventually find one? It's a major label release too, but I've been looking for 2 years and still not seen one listed anywhere. I've only told one person (in the States) what it is and I'd appreciate it if he didn't join in the thread

Price Please: Benny Spellman - This Is For You My Love
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
Blimey someone got a bargain there. But I'm not letting this go for less than 125 quid, was just wondering if it was actually more. -
Price Please: Benny Spellman - This Is For You My Love
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
Oh yes, what a great night that was, someone dropped out and I did a double set, best I've ever done - but I had some fantastic records round about that time. I definitely sold that copy for £200, but I know it's dropped off since. Great track though. -
Any ideas how much I should ask for this at the moment benny spellman - this is for you my love - alon ex+
-
f*ck are you talking about, there's other people other than me that say they don't like it.
-
Wow! p.s. I plucked two grand out of the air, hadn't got a clue what it was worth. I bet Mick would sell his.
-
Think they are about 7 or 8 years old now. They were done for one of the Prestatyns or Blackpool weekenders
-
It is a boot but John's just selling them, as I and hundreds of other people do. He ain't making them.
-
What type of collector then - garage/punk?
-
We already told this guy where to go when he made those accusations a couple of years ago, why's he at it again I wonder?
-
Bit surprised at the praise for this, it's a terrible production of a non-song, a right racket in fact. But hey, it's worth 2 grand so it must be good.

No reason to think it should be. Is it a green label?
-
125 - 150. I had one a few weeks back, think I may have got 150 for it as it was a really nice copy.
-
Mick Smith's got it - he has Simon Soussan's original copy, complete with instructions to the guys at the pressing plant who pressed the Soul Galore bootleg.
-
Yes, he's gay
-
Presumably it's the character from last of the summer wine?
-
I'd be surprised if they get any bids with such a high starting price though - always best to start something like that low and let it build up.
-
I mean seriously, I'd be embarassed to list something that looked like that

First one doesn't exist, the second two, well every UK TMG would have had test pressings like those, I've had various one sided acetates, 2 sided acetates, white labels, even one sided test presses of a couple of the EP's.
-
Thanks for letting us know the news Sean but can you please just edit the original post and mark the record as sold as per forum rules otherwise it's seen as (another) bump, thank you. This was the first thing I said I'd change when they asked me to moderate it as people were listing 50 records and posting every time one was sold.

Two (2) Monsters 45's For Sale - Both Are In Demand
Pete S replied to Costas's topic in Record Sales
Nobody has called you a liar. If Dave Flynn says he has had copies with no hiss, then he has said it not to call you a liar but simply to show that your statement that they all hiss is not true. It's a very bold statement, how can you know they all hiss, have you heard every copy pressed? It's like when people said that all copies of Cool Off were pressed off centre. I've never had ONE pressed off centre! Calm down, please.
