  1. I do! Jamaican records usually look and sound like shit. British labels 100% of the time for me.
  2. Have to say that I didn't even know this existed on a red label!
  3. I didn't go back, this was 6 months before that, he was selling under a different username to his original one and I wouldn't have even bid if I'd have known he was the seller. The only decent items were broken and inserted into the middle of the pile of records, so were already broken before he even posted them. He gave me half the money back, wow thanks, not like I could afford to send 250 records back to LA was it? It was at the same time as these two people left feedback: records arrived as in description but a lot were unplayable Buyer: Member id rivalino2 (private) Nov-15-09 03:47 COLLECTION OF 270+ RARE, NORTHERN SOUL FUNK R&B 45'S (#110440827403) US $390.00 BEWARE! Total RIP-OFF! Sold unplayable trashed junk as "nice condition"! BEWARE! and I didn't leave him ngative myself, why not, I will never know. Got no problem with you Ady but am happy to stand here and argue my corner.
  4. What's all this about "his ebay policies of selling cheap records"? Cheap records. Have you seen some of the things he used to sell? Absolutely top rarities.
  5. Sorry Paul, it's you that's unbelievable and you are completely our of order, how dare you deflect this back at Steve. Tommy is not a good seller in my opinion, the last lot of records he sent me went straight down the tip, he lied about the conditions and it's not the first time, if you really think the sun shines out of his arse then you help him out, otherwise stop slagging off honest people who've lost their money.
  6. I know but you can't blame the buyers, it was probably showing no negs when they bid then all of a sudden - loads.
  7. Might also get you in trouble with the police if you used some peoples bookmarks!
  8. Yeah it is.
  9. That's alright then, thanks for those words of wisdom, the fact that he got all the feedback at the same time makes no difference to your theory then.
  10. If there's shit coming out of the grooves then that's not a proper skim, it's the T-Cut method, what you have to do is wash them in soapy water and it will get all of the crap out, unfortunately it means that the record will revert to how it looked before it was treated but will actually sound better. The person you mentioned; everyone knows he does it. If I wanted a record 'cleaned' thats where I'd go. I'd rather sell them in their real state though.
  11. Also of course there are no libraries or internet cafes in Los Angeles so he couldn't have contacted you anyway Steve.
  12. I edited out the name yesterday so hopefully the majority of people didn't see it.
  13. I'm afraid your E Rodney Jones is the bootleg not the reissue, the original has the Logo in black lettering. If there is an original with brown lettering, John Manship thinks there is, I don't, but the wording R & B Time should be in larger letters than the artist credit like it is on the black logo one and the white DJ.
  14. I might take you up on that Mark, I've got hardly any left and I always need some for ebay.
  15. It's got nothing to do with Ady if Tommy is playing up, he's had to step in to solve a dispute between me and Tommy in the past when he shouldn't have had to.
  16. It's not Pottsy, it's Son of Pottsy.
  17. We thought we'd better remove the name 'just in case'. The person you mentioned does do it - for other people - he doesn't sell the items, he gets them 'cleaned'.
  18. I've got 4...
  19. Have merged all DJ Friendly sales lists after complaints from other sellers. If you want to know more specifics you can always PM me.
  20. Unfortunately I ran into him too, at Birmingham Record Fair, bought about £100 worth of Island and Blue Beats off him, every one skimmed, so I reported it to the fair organisers VIP, in fairness they did contact him but no doubt he's still at it. Incidentally, he was using T-Cut.
  21. Sorry, I was thinking of the UK pressed white label one with the solid centre - I've never seen that import one, at that price is it real?

  23. Are you sure about that, Feminine Ingenuity on the white label has a male vocal track on the other side, I don't remember Please Don't Go ever being booted - obviously I may be wrong and if so I apologise. The Take 6 version is poor quality, there are two different mixes of the Gold Token release, yours truly having found (or pointed out) the first of these 'different' mixes and sold it for a lot of money at the time.
  24. That's my method also, except I've always used an artists scalpel, or rather I did before my eyes deteriorated.
  25. Amazing! I remember buying that LP from Pep's shop, it was £5. I honestly don't remember writing my name and address on things though. Thats still my parents address. Thanks for sharing Kev!
