  1. To be fair, if I'd paid for something on the 16th of january, I'd be asking where it was by now. If you buy something off me, you get it sent same day or next day, it's not too much to ask other sellers to at least do it within a couple of days - and if, like this one, it doesn't turn up, I'd have asked after a week to be honest.
  2. ...since yesterday...all with scans and buy it now facilities good for an hour's browsing anyway thanks to anyone who's ordered so far https://www.rare-soul.com best wishes Pete

  4. CHARLES KNIGHT - ON MY STREET / DRIP DRIP ON MY PILLOW - KNITE LIFE 3. Anyone know this one? It's in the book at £30 but the onlt two on Popsike, one went through as 'rare doo wop' at $327, the other went through as 'rare Northern Soul' at $116. It's a pretty decent uptempo dancer, and does indeed have a nice doo-wop track on the flip. So - accurate price to ask anyone? This copy has "DJ" in marker pen written on it to denote the A side, probably couldn't afford to do any proper demos.
  5. No this was widespread, everyone used the term 'div'.
  6. Thanks for your support guys
  7. He's trying to make out that these are all 'old school' pressings from the 70's and not from the last few years, however all of the following were done since 2000 on labels like Stardust and out and out boots, he's just putting labels on them: YUM YUM'S - GONNA BE A BIG THING - -ABC (monster oldie) CONSTELLATIONS - I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU - GEMINI THE SHOWMAN - THE WRONG GIRL - MINIT NOLAN CHANCE - JUST LIKE THE WEATHER - BUNKY TERRY CALLIER - LOOK AT ME NOW - CADET DEL LARKS - JOB OPENING - QUEEN CITY (original £5K) WALTER AND THE ADMIRATIONS - MAN O MAN - LA CINDY(original £5K) JIMMY BO HORNE - I JUST CANT SPEAK - DADE ( original £2K) EDWIN STARR - YOUR MY MELLOW - SEVENS ASPIRATIONS - YOU LEFT ME - PEACHES (original £5k) CURTIS LEE - IS SHE IN YOUR TOWN - MIRA DANA VALERY - YOU DONT KNOW WHERE YOUR INTEREST LIES - COLUMBIA ALICE CLARK - YOU HIT ME - WB RING LEADERS - BABY WHAT HAS HAPPEND - M PAC CAJUN HEART - GOT TO FIND A WAY - WB DOUG BANKS - I JUST KEPT ON DANCING - ARGO HOLLY ST JAMES - THATS NOT LOVE - ABC ( monster Wigan Oldie) LIZ VERDI - THINK IT OVER - COLUMBIA CHAPTER FIVE - YOU CANT MEAN IT - CBS

  13. As far as I know, never booted on red label Modern; You Turned My Bitter Into Sweet was, but not this one.
  14. Sorry, don't want this to seem like bumping but I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Karen Bridges (Soulgirl) for doing all the work on that website for me, in her own time...she could have made a big difference to me and my family with her help so thank you Karen, you're a star.
  15. Right I can confirm that the site is fully functional because I've just had my first order and the paypal and checkout thing worked like a dream. So if you could all buy something now I'd be very grateful and will be able to pay my tax bill on monday.
  16. Oh I see what you mean
  17. My website's had a major update and you can now browse through the records and if you fancy something, you can just click to buy, put it in your shopping cardtand pay via paypal. Saves you having to deal with me LOL. Every record has a scan which you can enlarge, all entries have A & B sides listed, and all are carefully graded. I've noticed that viewing in Internet Explorer, some of the scans are not showing up; in Firefox, they all show up. Don't know why this is. Anyway there are three pages of records on there so far, around 150 items, I will add 50 to 75 items every day so please bookmark the site and check back there regularly. At the moment I have only started adding USA Original Northern Soul 45's, the other categories are empty. So if you fancy having a look, please click the link below https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/?page_id=283&page_number=1 any questions, problems, bugs etc, you can alays email me at pete.smith@freeuk.com all the best Pete
  18. Amazing isn't it, what are these people on?
  19. 40 quid for the USA stock copy. 30 for the USA demo. 100 for the UK green demo. 60 for the UK black issue. 5-10 for UK orange issue.
  20. That's a baffling statement mate because there actually is no UK 45 of it!
  21. This one only turns up once in a blue moon and when it does, it's usually missing it's stunning picture cover or is battered to bits. This copy has it's sleeve intact and in truly Excellent condition, barely any laminate creasing, just a tiny bit over by the open end and two 5mm ones near the spine. The vinyl is mint apart from the fact that It Hurts Too Much To Cry has obviously been played, however, that's still mint as far as sound quality goes, not a scratch, pop, nothing - grading at mint minus and that is harsh. So... THE GREAT H.B. BARNUM 4 TRACK UK RCA EP (RCX-7147) IT HURTS TOO MUCH TO CRY / HOW MANY MORE TIMES / TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME / COMING ROUND THE MOUNTAIN Asking for £225 or near offer for this or will trade for good quality UK label reggae/ska (60's) free special delivery pete.smith@freeuk.com 01902 326306 this has sold for JM auction - £275 Popsike (mint) - £275 Popsike (vg) - £165
  22. Yeah that's the problem. The backing / music is really good though.
  23. More or less what Dave was saying: In the early 60's, the Philips group (including Fontana and Mercury) stopped issuing 'proper' demos and instead they used these stickers, after a couple of years they were replaced with a yellow SAMPLE stamp. I think the white demos were reintroduced in late 1968.
  24. Just heard this guy on Radio 2, cracking track this, he also does a really good version of Seven nation Army. Am I late to the ball again, cos I never heard of him before
