  1. They probably fear losing the item in the post.
  2. The fact that this guy is telling a singer how to sing? See comments below the clip.
  3. Same here, though I usually ended up in some sort of trouble.. Often a nice crowd of skinheads to offer help and advice on leaving the place too. Stafford Top Of The World had some good alldayers in 79 on alternate weeks to the Locarno, unfortunately I was arrested twice by the DS and decided it was probably not the best place for me to go after that.
  4. All of the records were hits in 75 so more likely to be late 75? (24 Hours A Day was 1976 - what a fantastic record that is)
  5. Yes it's the second of those two Paul.
  6. They were all demos Ian. You might have had an issue but everyone else had demos.
  7. Difficult to say how rare this one is, when I first got one over 20 years ago, it had only been seen twice I think, but a few more have emerged since, I've had it three times but two were the same copy. With the first one, I had a CBS press release saying that the record was to be delayed by two weeks, and a second press release to say that the record was now not to be released at all and any copies should be returned.
  8. The 'known' record on UPC was by a band called Tikki Tacki Suzy Lies! Can't remember the title, might have been Dream Stealer, but it was played at The Torch or the Cats from what I was told.
  9. At one point I can remember 4 different record shops selling pressings in Wolverhampton. They went in the window displays. Most if not all came from Selectadisc. None were advertised as bootlegs, they were just called "new imports"
  10. Different world to me then cos I bought almost every one that came out (1975-78), it was the only way to be able to afford the records most of the time, when you consider 50,000 people bought a pressing of Tainted Love thats an awful lot of people to take the p*ss out of!
  11. Ask them if they do an airsure service to Japan before asking about international signed for - it's way more reliable
  12. https://shop.ebay.co.uk/mayfairmenthol/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 loads of 'em, some cracking stuff for sale, all buy it now
  13. The EMI owned Columbia label had nothing to do with US Columbia or CBS, it just happened to license material from the US Columbia label. That's why the Major Lance releases on Columbia have nothing to do with the thread! That's all. Still like to see the scans!

  15. Wayne Gibson was a UK production, nothing to do with any US label: like I said, the Major Lance recordings were licensed to UK Columbia and the topic is UK CBS, which is why I mentioned it, no Major Lance Okeh recordings came out on UK CBS in the 60's.
  16. The reason this story still has some credibility is because of The Volumes 45's appearance in "The New Singles", a fold out brochure that came out every week listing all of that weeks new releases, I used to have hundreds of these when working for Music Master and it definitely appears in that publication, but the information would have been provided weeks before publication and of course record companies change their minds. If it exists, there's a possibility it might have appeared on a "pre", a white label advance press, however I don't think Pama produced these for their soul releases.
  17. Those Columbia's have nothing to do with UK CBS, up until 66 US Columbia appeared on UK Columbia, very confusing, then it switched to UK CBS.
  18. Superb as usual mate but this time I actually knew 90% of those! Looking forward to the Direction label to see if you have a copy of the best release on the label: Mickey Finn - Garden Of My Mind!
  19. I've had two of those in the last 18 months and nobody, but nobody was interested, despite it being extremely rare; maybe it's just a record that's gone out of fashion. I think the swecond one came from the same source as yours!
  20. There was a nice Wand copy on ebay about a year ago, I kept looking at it then thought nah, not worth bothering with, not realising I'd never seen it before; it went for a low price, maybe $30. Might not be on popsike but I can guarantee 100% it was there.

  24. John how do you get the html to work on your ebay adverts, I try it but it all ends up a jumbled mess, yours manages to keep the spaces and formatting intact??
