  1. Yeah I can just imagine your reaction if I'd come up to you and said "what the hell was that funk shite you've just made us all suffer" p.s. I wasn't there and don't know the records involved, it's a response to your 'little chat' comment
  2. Same tune as The Impressions - I'm the one who loves you, ther's another one uses the same backing as well, Are You Gonna Leave Me.
  3. No Richard Temple is Jimmy Conwell and vice-versa
  4. Probably the same person who wrote the Norma Lee record and I got the first initial wrong.
  5. One is Maynell Wilson, it came in a pic sleeve. Can't remember the other one I had. Blue label with a red star in the middle.
  6. Not sure but it's actually by Norma Lee & The Pat Daniels Band if that's any help. Written by J. McLennon. Only heard two things on CBM, one had a great title "Motown Feeling" but the record was rubbish.
  7. Well that was very different and you're very brave posting it on here. I love The Clash over The Gallop. Problem for me was some of the vocals were getting lost, God knows I am no expert but would it have been possible to save the entire mix into mono? Anyway, nice to hear something very different...wish I could do it.
  8. Came out CBS first then reissued due to demand on Direction 2-3 years later and remember reading in a dave Godin column in 1974 that it was still available to order, so they didn't delete it for year, same with Brooks & Jerry and Cliff Nobles, so interesting that they kept some Direction titles on catalogue depsite the label ceasing in 1970 or 71. Sorry, I digress...
  9. Well Bill Black certainly was Elvis's bass guitarist (well slap-bass) for the Sun sessions and beyond.
  10. I think he has 'got soul', absolutely. Just not keen on the music.
  11. I sold a £300 quid record on here for £25 last year. I just bit the bullet. I do object, however, to the guy who bought Edwin Starr - My kind of woman on Ric Tic off me, I didn't realise it was a demo, and when he got it he practically took the piss out of me for selling it so too cheap and not as a demo.
  12. Same here. Good singer, no doubt, insipid music as bad as the mid 80's really.
  13. Agree, great record, fortunately available to us lesser mortals on a Polydor demo lookalike. Got it on my jukebox.
  14. What a fantastic pic sleeve on that Sandy Sarjeant! Groovy.
  15. Sorry about the scans of black labels, my camera doesn't like them.
  16. OK shall we move on a bit now...one of the most astonishing blue eyed soul records ever made
  17. No I'm probably confused by her having no black facial features and her skin not being black
  18. Tone, I know this is of no use to you know but I had a copy of jackie Lee - The Town I Live in 2 months back which I had no intention of selling, but someone sent me a wants list with a price they wanted to pay and I decided it was then for sale, so I sold it. It's always worth asking me for non-Northern 60's stuff, you never know.
  19. Going/gone through similar thing this week on a UK SUE record, got it for half it's value, 10 days and still no item, contacted the seller who is suppose to have sent it recorded, refunded straight away,
  20. Whitest black girl I've ever seen then...did you see the photo above? is it a black girl? Nah...
  21. Steve, it's a different take with the organ more upfront. You need to get a sound clip up!
