  1. I've never had an original either. Comes in that bracket of great funky Northern dancers that were around in 75-76, Skullsnaps, Rufus Wood etc
  2. Rod, was talking to someone yesterday who said you had some of these at very very late Wigan, because he bought an acetate from you there. So might surprise people that they are actually pre-Stafford.
  3. Ben Brown 30-40 Barbara Mason 30-40 (tough one to sell) Tommy tate 75-100
  4. Blimey - how way out was i!
  5. Agree 100%, on all counts.
  6. Everyt time I get a message, read it, then I click NEW POSTS to get back to the forum, it first takes me to new members for some reason and there's always between 1 and 5 new people every time I do this, and I do it every day, so goodness knows how many members there are, must be 5000? Except only about 100 ever post. Shame.
  7. Been on more or less every rocksteady podcast I've ever done - this version is unreleased on a 45, the released version has a really obtrusive guitar all over it and is horrible, this one is just one of the best records ever made.
  8. I was after that Keith Blake for years with no success, outbid on Ebay every time even when bidding 125 quid a few years back. In the end I got fed up, cut it myself and stuck a photocopy label on it.
  9. Thats cos it IS a tailor made, Jeezus I posted that track up on here about 5 years ago, all of a sudden it's the new dogs b*llocks
  10. Hardly likely to have "some" am I? When I get it, which is fairly regularly, thats how much it is.
  11. The reggae rhythm is just totally alien to Northern dancers. Ska is quite easy to adapt to, but not reggae.
  12. Although I said I wouldn't reserve anything, I'm off now til the morning so the people who asked for the records marked as HELD have til then to pay for 'em. cheers Pete
  13. You've got to be kidding. Forget how many times you've heard it, it's one of the greatest ska instrumentals ever, played by the greatest band ever (The Skatalites), a 100% bona fide classic and it pisses on that Double Barrel vocal rubbish every time
  14. There's a Johnny Sayles on St Lawrence on their described as an original when it's obviously a boot
  15. From what I remember, it was issued as a special promo for a sales conference or something like that - in the late 80's
  16. Virginia Wolves is 1.51 not 1.26 Maurice Williams version is 1.36

  19. Too late by the looks of it
  20. Good luck to Steve for getting that price but I've got one here I was going to set sale at 15 quid but looking at that, it makes me think I might as well put all of them on ebay cos they fetch twice as much!
  21. They came out in 76 but I've no idea about legit or otherwise.
  22. If you've got money in your account it will always take the money from your paypal account first, even if you specify it should come off a card, it won't do that til your account is down to zero.
  23. Mick you are thinking of the one Godzilla put up above. Godzilla, that one came out well after the pale blue one. The pale blue ones were quite limited and sold for more than the usual pressings of the day, that blue and white one, well I don't think I ever saw that before 1978
