  1. Urban myth, she did represent Ireland in the Eurovision song contest but not with that song.
  2. Rob Bellars covered up Bobby Patterson 'what a wonderful night for love' (UK Pama) at the Twisted Wheel and this is believed to have been the first - so that would be 1969 I think
  3. Much harder - but then again, nearly all of them are. I"m still waiting for someone else to show me a Dean Courtney issue apart from the one I had. Eventually sold for £1000. That was rare. Having said that, Velours, Charades, Carol & Gerri, all about the same value and IN MY OPINION it's nowhere near £500.
  4. p.s. Chalky do you remember Kitch saying his copy had Inez Foxx on the label or did I imagine that?
  5. First time I heard this I thought it was fantastic - forget the vocal, but the drums, the bass, the sax...could tell who it was straight away despite no label credits, Steve from the Professionals agreed with me about the drummer - Uriel Jones. And I just thought, well, played loud that could really do something. $350 later I won it.
  6. Well theres three cos I had two...and neither sound like a girl, you bunch of deaf b*stards Chalky - it'd have to go some to be better
  7. Have to disagree with you there Nige, nearly every copy I get is a mint or excellent one, at least 300 originals of this were imported by Soul Bowl and sold for £3 each back in late 1977. I even get them as 'pressings' in collections now and again.
  8. Really? Never once had the slightest notion that it's a girl.
  9. Thats a very good question of which I have no idea what the answer is. Probably around £15 I should think. Do you want me to find out (n.b. I'm away as from saturday in case you contact me and I don't reply, back friday)
  10. Yes both sides - though still not sure whether I should let them go fully public as I got a lot for the original and the guy who bought the acetate might be p*ssed off if I let everyone have it for nothing. Could do you 3/4 of it if you like. Oh except refosoul is down so I can't post it anyway! When it left me it was Little Carl & The Detroit Hitmen - The Tingle. No idea why Sam changed it to being by a female.

  12. I've no idea what that is.
  13. B side of Pleasure Girl, well A side actually, is Baby You Don't Have To Tell Me.
  14. Doubt it - but I did hear him play Love You Baby by Eddie Parker followed by In A Rut by The Ruts.
  15. Several - non legal though
  16. Hot Rod Poppa - isn't this a Marc Bolan song?

  23. Played out at Wigan & venues at the same time as the A side I mean Chalky, were you there? As it was 33 years ago, I guess not?
  24. Could be, I thought I remembered it from somewhere, then again I forget half the records I sell to be honest.
  25. Any ideas please - mint white demo - the Dream Merchants - Stop (You're Breaking My Heart). Anyone noticed it's got a very similar tune to Walter & The Admirations?
