  5. Yeah the early stuff is good, they were more r&b then though I think
  6. and on UK Dot 45 - credited just to Joe Stampley
  7. Kev, nothing wrong with the record, we just can't understand where it fits in.
  8. In what way are you being pedantic apart from using one of my buzzwords you're spot on. Nobody has yet answered - why are you playing reggae records?
  9. Paul and Rich, I may be being a bit pedantic but Double Barrel is not actually an instrumental, it's a DJ record. The B side, Double Barrel (version) is an instrumental though.
  10. You may be right but I first heard it on Club reggae vol.4 I think it was, 99p from jenks newsagent in our village
  11. The boxes came from Homebase mate, £9.99 each - perfect size but not mega-tough. Got your email, will sort over weekend and send address.
  12. I didn't know that, I didn't even hear it til 1988
  13. Wasn't a f*ck though was it? Nobody got my joke on the last sentence where I said "I haven't said the word fu...@ " and I cut it off before the word ended. Well I got it anyway LOL
  14. I remember seeing the Ikettes in a wigan top 20 some time in 1975
  15. Was still going strong in 77, the tape I did Feb 12th 77, goes down well on there. Lydia Marcelle was a very rare play from what I can remember. Great though.
  16. From that lot, the Joey Dee was a truly massive record in early 76, bootlegged twice in fact, one of the biggest records of that year.
  17. I know but if I'd spent most of my time at the 100 Club, I'd namecheck that place - I can only go by where I've been and what I've heard (or not heard)(again)(ever)
  18. you bugger, you beat me to it
  19. To be fair it was 45 but the chap bought several so I did him a discount, and also I was told to get whatever I could for the records, so thats what I did!
  20. Absolutely brilliant though, that Leslie Uggams
  21. You could always try actually reading the question. Played for a few weeks then disappears. As Wigan casino was the venue I attended, thats the one that I can relate my experiences of.
  22. If Spain is near Leeds, yes
  23. Sold it 3 days ago for £35 or £40
