  1. I've got this, but it's almost impossible to price as hardly any copies have ever been offered for sale. Two on popsike from years ago but no sign of the one that was sold last year. I've had four, five copies of Tony Middleton on Polydor, only one of this one.
  2. If he hasn't, I"ve got one if you PM me
  3. Madeline Bell is on a UK Philips 45 as well as the LP by the way.
  4. Er...no, sorry!
  5. Paul the Total Eclipes (thats how it's spelt on that label) is a different vocal to Chris Bartley - Since there's no doubt, is that the one you mean? p.s. I said Bartley instead of Jackson again
  6. No, seriously, "I think it's shameful" - really? Shameful? Christ...
  7. No you're right Chaljy, it's LP only, two bootlegs that I know of, one green label Stephanye, same track both sides, one black label Stephanye, one sided
  8. You need to get a life then...
  9. should have been melted down before it was released
  10. At least he had a go, he documented all of those artists, half of them have died since and if he hadn't done it, there'd be no record that half of them even existed. I don't like a lot of the backing tracks, the drum samples etc but that film gets better every time you watch it, seriously. I watched about 2 hours of it last night so it's still fresh in my mind, and I was one of, if not the, biggest detractor of the film when it came out. Ian Levine should be knighted for his services to soul music on the basis of this film alone.
  11. Wow, what fantastic information, straight from the horse's mouth so to speak, thanks for sharing that J. Paul / Robbie, when everyone gets back from their Christmas break I'm sure you'll be inundated with questions.
  12. It's from a program called "Shivaree", I"ve got stacks of clips from that show.
  13. Yeah it was mate, also a great place to hang out and talk about records, Dave Kilworth, Roger Nicholls, Big Frank etc, good times.
  14. Bald guy, Malcolm, other guy John. They had a very very big falling out hence the shop closing. I still see John now and again, he sometimes has records for me.
  15. Er...that was the idea...that you enjoy it
  16. The Queen Street one was last known as "Toontown Video" !
  17. Well I did say I wouldn't be back before the New Year but I picked up quite a few obscure and interesting singles over the last fortnight so I thought it only right that I share them with everyone, for better or for worse! So a mix of early 60's popcorn, Northern Soul, 60's TV themes, a few beat things and some rock'n'roll - sorry reggae fans, I actually forgot to do a reggae section but I'll do one next time. Thanks to everyone who's watched the episodes and especially those who took the time to email me with encouraging words. Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas. Pete S * WARNING, THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SOME VERY STRANGE EARLY 60's POP RECORDS https://vimeo.com/34053263
  18. Thats the shop everyone refers to Tim, not his video shops.
  19. Come out of the station, go to the end of station approach, cross straight over and it was sandwiched inbetween the Old Vic hotel and the Grand Theatre
  20. Pep runs a hotel in Tywyn, North Wales
  21. Over here it's the scarcest of the lot, the others turn up regularly, not this one. Are they all dj copies? Don't like it myself...
  22. Not saying anyone has to agree with me. Just saying it's crap. Hit The Road jack rip-off crap at that.
  23. Something I really miss about Northern nowadays is the clapping - I don't just mean the fantastic clapping to the last 3 but on every record, people clapped on the exact beat at the start or end of a chorus etc, that was a skill that you had to acquire, shame that it died out. For instance on Long After Tonight Is All Over, he sings "let me tell you" and the response is a massive uniform 'CLAP', just the one, but by a thousand people, before he sings the next line. F*cking magic.
  24. It's terrible when you think I did one almost every week and I've only got maybe 10 or less of my originals left - I've actually got about 50 but not recorded by me
  25. Who's buying this crap?
